Can you play the ragnarok map if you don't own scorched earth or do u need to buy scorched earth?

Its a free standalone map, you dont need to buy anything (other then the base game, obviously), to play Ragnarok.

You can play anything that has SE content in it. You would only need SE if you wanted to play on the SE map. All the mods etc dont require it. Wildcard could have made us have to buy it first but they didn't. Respect.

If you don't have Scorched Earth then you won't be able to make some of the engrams, but nothing important.

When you buy the Scorched Earth DLC you are paying for the map, not the dinos and new engrams, thus all the SE dinos and engrams are available on other maps.

Before I purchased SE I noticed that I couldn't make whips, adobe stuff, etc. I bought SE before Ragnarok came out and assumed it was the same deal.. that you had to go over to the SE map in order to train those engrams.

I didn't mind paying for SE, oddly enough. I love ark enough that if Wildcard needs to make some extra money, sure. It was worth it at the time for wyverns and mantis's. Does seem like a waste of money now, but respect to WC for making ragnarok FREE and accessible RIGHT NOW.
