How much ammo to take out a level 44 alpha carno with a longneck rifle?

Depends on where its stats have gone into but probably a lot. Also depends on the damage of your rifle.

You are better off getting it really bloody with a ptera or argie and then finishing it off with a rifle. In case you don't know, all land dinos, including the Alpha's have a sweet spot above their heads where birds can hit them without taking any damage and if you get them positioned right, the alpha just sits there looking at you while you peck away at it.

This is assuming you want the XP for the kill yourself, if you just want it dead, hover over with bird, spam LMB until dead.

Dunno about a Carnos but I found an Alpha Rex that took me 6 long necks (primitive) and about 230 shots to kill... X.X but it was totally worth it
