200 GB ARK!?
I have only gotten a small SSD and can't afford to upgrade it atm. Why does ark fill up 200 GB atm? I only have 223 GB on my SSD so it is soon full from just one game. Please make it more compact upon release or smth....

havent looked at specs or played, but the game using up 200+Gb

sounds like you downloaded the entire thing as though your trying to run a host server

I know only 2 reason why ark is 50+ :D
1. mods
2. SeekFreeContent folder

I heard the second one is for performance, if you have stronk PC then remove it :D

or you could delete ragnarok, scorched, center and your mods.

I bet you can get more than 60gb back from that. Mine installation has 140gb, with ragnarok, scorched and mods.

Uninstall the entire game, delete all folders of it, make sure you delete the mod folder. Remember your settings so you can set them in after again. Now reinstall the game fresh. You will see the game now takes up less space.

Well, the issue is more that if i am going to uninstall mods, i have to go on EVERY SINGLE MOD and unsubscribe. i have about 200~ mods installed, only using about 50 of them tho. And deleting ragnarok and scorched earth, the things i want to play won't help if i am gonna install it again.

You have 200 mods and you're complaining about how much space is taking up that's not Ark fault that's your fault

my installl is less than 60Gb with Ragnarok and the Center map plus a few mods (~20 installed and ~12 in use)

You must have a LOT of addon maps (they tend to add 1-3+gb each) to get to 200gb

Delete your mod folder, then unsubscribe from all the mods. Now when you join a server you will only have the ones you are actually needing. This will reduce the massive size issue you are having. Chances are most of those mods you don't even use anymore.

I did that :) And it works good now, got like 100 gb more space xd

I was going to create another thread but since this one is at the top I might use it to ask for help.
I haven't played Ark in 1.5 years and was thinking of installing it again. Steam says it will take up to 93Gb (no mods subscribed) and I see a lot of people saying their version takes less than 60Gb. What can I do to reduce the amount of space required in this situation?
