Is this basically a troll dino? Who in the world wants to hand-feed a compy for 9 hours?

imagine the dolphins, you can tame compys with prime meat, the dolphins with like 5 dodo kibble, and breed for days....

They are what I consider "fun" dinosaurs. I've never seen any real use for them.

They have crap for base damage, no special ability such as keep meat longer (vulture), weather prediction (jerboa) or slowing attack (monkey), very low HP and no armor slot.

The only real good reason to breed compies is that they make adorable babies. HP and damage is way too low to make it worth 3 days of maturation/imprinting even with the pack bonus.

It's not a troll, it's just not worth it. I don't think anyway. They get a pack bonus at least.

That doesn't mean they don't get a pack bonus at all. Their special ability is a pack bonus when on the ground. Tame eight or so tough ones to use against other players and smaller dinos.

If I remember the dossier correctly, you can use compies as alarm systems because they shriek loudly when in danger.

Yeah they do shriek when in combat, but the combat music also plays. Also, it appears that all shoulder mounts get a 50% weight reduction - not just the jerboa so I'm editing my previous post.
