Best building spots in Ragnarok?
Me and a friend are waiting for our admin to add it to our cluster, and want to plan out a good spot. Ideally it will have access to oceans/large waterway, and maybe even a secluded shoreline for a harbour, resources somewhat nearby (We have classic flyers+wyverns, so no big deal if a little bit of travel is involved), any treeplatform spots (i.e special rocks, etc) in the area/included (I read the mod has areas besides redwood trees which allow platforms), and lastly if possible some ruins nearby/included. Not any overallly dangerous area if possible. Giganotos/Titanos not a concern, Rock golems are. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Explore it yourself.
It looks like there are many good spots to build.

And it is all based on a persons opinion. Only you can judge what is good for you.

I chose one of the recommended spots and it fits most of your criteria and I really like it. But that is just me.

Just flew around the map and I really could not find any good places to build hope someone else has had luck.

Going to be a nice individual, I personally like Hidana, the large open plain next to the green(?) obelisk. It's a nice wide open area, with metal in the cliff and bee spawns everywhere too (and the rare flowers they need). There are more than enough berries, and I haven't really seen much worse than a terror bird, minus the occasional far wandering Rex. There is also a griffin spawn just on the cliffs to the north, so they're quite easy to acquire. The only time I had to go far out of my way was to get crystal and obsidian.

I found a pretty cool place where theres a big open cave hidden behind a waterfall at 22.7, 30.5 Idk about resources/surrounding creatures but it looks pretty cool and id recommend looking at it in SP

If you find the castle from the trailer, the one with the three griffins on it, it's got a very nice... Wine cellar.

I can't decide, so many nice spots and it seems everytime I go for a joy ride, I find a new place.

First I will disclose I play SP so this location may be taken but it is the best one so far for me.

Sorry no GPS but It is just south of viking bay, the highest platuea there. There is no natural access to the top for land dinos but I will build a ramp up to it. You will need X species here as Argies can fly past and kill your dinos.

Small lake at the top leading off to 2 waterfalls, metal, crystal and obsidian around you.

Lots of room to build and keep dinos, can go fishing in the lake. The views are amazing.

Check out my last 8 screenshots and 1 of them shows where I am on the map (sorry for low graphics)

Only problem is that I don't think I will breed large dinos here like Rex or Giga. Despite the top being huge, I don't want to risk taking a baby for a walk and having them fall off the sides. A lot of nasty stuff down there including an alpha rex.

Oh and there is no loot beacon that spawns here, that's a big disadvantage in my book as I use them a lot to transfer around the map but I will work with it.

If you were playing SP I would also recommend blue obelisk as a nice location too, the land access to it is very narrow with deep water on both sides so very easy to block off from wilds and it provides a massive area with a water pen opportunity.

Thanks everyone! (Even cyclon8)
I need to properly explore the map myself, so might do that in SP shortly, but these are some great suggestions. I'll take a good look around and share spots/screenshots I've got.

i found a cool spot in he central area. near the low lying river, in he SE type area. its got a nice cave area (not really a cave, more like a through fare, its got a water fall at one end, has a river level piece that can be blocked off. its also got its own metal and obsidian nodes i can regularly mine out, plus loads near by.

Had a chance to explore a lot of the caves today, no doubt they would all be taken on MP servers now but a lot of them would make excellent bases.

Any good spots, not for pvp, that have easier land dino access and easy water pen?

For that, I guess either Viking bay, or far on the east coast, near the lighthouse where the stone docks are. It has the massive plains (with wyverns nearby if you want them), and it leads to the ocean and the stone docks could form a natural wall theoretically for a water pen. Not sure how resources are, but the spot looks beautiful from the times I've flown past it.
