What speed would a moth need to outrun an argentavis?
Greetings All !

I'm on Scorched Earth playing solo. I have a stable of moths, but I'm wanting to upgrade to an argent. I'm just planning out how I want to go about doing this, since it's a bit of a distance between where my base is and where the argents are.

I was thinking about whether it would be feasible to aggro an argent with a moth and then guide it back to base or to a taming pen? The moths are awfully slow.

What speed would I need to have one at in order to be certain it could outrun any wild argents?

Thanks!

Although I am not familiar with the speeds you would need, you would also need to watch ur stamina as well. I ended up hunting down a low lvl argent on foot in order to kite a high lvl one to a cage because the moth I had was too slow and would run out of Stam before the halfway point of getting it to my taming cage.

Stamina will be your problem, the base sprinting speed is faster than a wild argent. I've lured the argents half way across the map with low level moths you just have to take some hits. Better strategy though would be to build a argent cage right next to where they are at.

Thanks for the advice, guys!

So, with regards to where they are at: my base is towards the center of the Scorched map... just northeast of that single mountain that's just west of the central canyon.

I've only just recently started flying up to that mountain to get metal, sulfur, etc. I haven't seen any argents up there yet, but honestly, during double-XP weekends, I don't expect there to be any, what with all the taming that seems to go on. Do they spawn up there normally?

If not, any idea where the closest spawning area might be? I mean, yeah, I can probably head for mountains in any direction. But the shorter the trip, the better.

The easiest way we found to tame an argent is to head to that cave beside the red obelisk. Have some prime meat ready and then kite the argent into the cave. You can have a raft set up for fishing and fish up prime meat. It is fairly safe in the cave but you will have to watch out for danger out on the raft. :D

^ Pretty much this, I use exactly the same spot for my argies, best is the flee mechanic just see's them fly into a wall. Another option to teh raft is take a big hitter into the cave and "stable" it there, plenty of Carno's etc for prime drop from above if you goto the far end of the cave also found a few decent lvl argis that side too.
