Refrigerated Feeding Trough?
When, if ever, is this going to become a thing? Feeding troughs have 60 slots, which is mostly pointless due to spoilage, and keeping troughs replenished from spoilage is one of the major irritants of raising a baby. Something along the lines of an open-topped chest freezer, or maybe something similar to the refrigerated wetwall at a grocery seems like a good place to start. Same shape as a feeding trough, but looks like an AC on the outside, and emits pale white smoke like a preserving bin when powered?

This is a thing IRL, and would be undebatably useful in game, and makes sense. Maybe 40 or 50x spoilage time?

what 40x spoil time, that would make prime taming a joke

It already exists: Kilrath's Refridgerated Feeding Trough & Tavan's Trough

There is literally nothing better than being able to be gone for a few weeks and not worry about things starving to death..

No, the feeding trough is still only 4x.

Drazan, you can already take a fridge on a platform dino. Prime taming has always been a joke.

If I was bothered enough by the spoiling, I'd look to jerky first. The whole idea of jerky is to preserve meat for a longer time. Maybe add dried fruit for herbivores, and just make them generally less of a hassle to mass produce.
That would be how I would prefer to go about it, but I do agree something in this general direction would be a worthwhile upgrade to get.

Honestly, I'm in favor of both. More consolidated mass jerky production, and refrigerated troughs. Dried fruit would be an excellent addition to the game!

maybe if you could just add preserving salts to the trough that would be enough especially if you could stack the salts more maybe stacks of 20

Now thats an idea "dried fruit", why hasn't this been seriously looked at, I mean we have jerky.
Dried fruit, extra sparks to produce and a 3-1 ratio.

I'm probably the minority, but I don't like this idea. The reason being that it would take away from the immersion.
What could be done instead is up the spoiling time in the through slightly and maybe add something like 'Hay' for the herbivores. Whenever I leave the game for longer, I just put Jerky and a stack of berries in and, honestly, I've been away for like over a week once and none of my Dinos food was even halfway empty...

It's a feeding trough, not a refrigerator. So hopefully it will never be an official thing. There is a mod for it though.

I don't really see how it would ruin the immersion when these kinds of things exist IRL.
