S+ Not Snapping
I just started building a new base and none of my S+ structures are snapping, did they change something in this new update?

The base game structures still snap.....

Please help if anyone has the same problem, and if so if they solved this!?

Rename the most recent prior save game in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal folder to TheIsland.ark and it should be back once you launch again. Just losing whatever time since that save, but better than nothing!

I have no idea how to look in programs to mess w files or mods-and i doubt i ever will-mostly newer systems have 10k distraction programs that confuse the main menu now- I hope for a huge solar flare so we can go back to rolling dice again

i am a game dev, and i work in the same engine ark was made (unreal engine 4). i loked into their code. it is a hot mess. not because their devs are incompetent, but because it is a mishmash. which means, WC is constantly firing and hiring new devs, and they never know what the other s did, and they just build their layer of buggy mess, and this is because every change is so bad.
and even the foundation of the game is one of the most unpotimized free unreal asset, namely https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-us/Resources/SampleGames/ShooterGame
and mostly because of this, they cannot even update the engine version, and they use an ancient version, 4.7 or something.

if the code would have been made clean, object oriented, modular and simple, the game would run 10x as fast and less buggy.

Ok, I make my living doing exactly that, design and development. I will say it again don't talk to me like I don't know whats going on champ...

I am not part of game development anymore on ARK bud... No longer a test dummy for them, get it!? I don't think you do. Educate yourself get on the page where this is a RELEASED GAME and quit acting like this is acceptable in anyway to release a game breaking patch when it's a known issue since January.

You setting there acting like this is still a EARLY ACCESS game is funny... that would be the issue at hand now wouldn't it Champ. I QUIT being a test pilot the minute Wild Card RELEASED their game... Hope that brings you up to speed and gets you closer to the major issue we now have. This is no longer a early access title and beta testing. This would by definition be Alpha testing because beta testing is when you have all content added to the game and you are polishing... Alpha is where you are still "implementing" content for testing. ( to educate you further champ ) When they released their game, it is up to them to make sure it is a polished version before release not know their is a issue and shove it down peoples throat.

I am not, nor are many many many others going to just set here say it's ok and not say anything about this kind of development. Just set there and say oh well, it's a $130.00 for game and DLC full price and some paid exactly that. It's ok they still treat me as if I am a tester when I am not anymore. They need to fix it fast or roll it back. End of story champ.

I am annoyed about this, but wow some people are super heated, i strongly suggest you find another game to play until WC figures this out, or the guy who made S+ mod fixes it (which is highly unlikely).

Conan Exiles just got a new update btw.

I am curious if we can use the standard foundations, walls etc. that are not apart of the main game, and still use the stations and other items from the S+ mod. S+ was not just about the building pieces.

I have noticed i crash alot more since the recent update, not sure if it is mod related or patch related. Oh well off to another game till this gets sorted.

Yes Dradin, you can set and snap regular foundations and as far as I know you can snap S+ walls to regular foundations but you can't use S+ ceilings... Basically the snap points for foundations and ceiling tiles S+ are broke from what I am seeing...

Dradin Yes, stutters, freezes and crashes are a major issue at this time.

( for those of us who know what we are doing Mr.Champ. Comprehension again Pog Champ it's in my review that it was contradictory. Reported again for Trolling Baiting and off topic )

You can use the crafting stations but there (maybe) is some other issue with using the S+ with ARK atm that makes it wonky and even more broken. I'm not sure for Servers, but for SP at least for me I'm running into an issue that no one seem to have found out yet or it could be just me.

I can't make or use the New Wall or Triangle foundations. Instead, I'm greeted with several copies of S+ versions, (though for a moment I was able to see the new Vanilla Triangle, don’t ask me how, in my crafting menu but it disappeared when I re-logged) and when I re-log any of the New Walls or Triangles I have in my bag or even placed down will magically turn into S+ versions. Idk about doors and what not yet. And yes I do have the new endgrams learned for these new items too.
In order for me to build I have to spawn one in, make it a blueprint with S+ mod and make everything I want, and don't log out till everything is placed otherwise everything I made/spawned in is useless.

EDIT: the normal foundations are not effected by this, and remain Vanilla. I haven't tested it to much though and this is only on SP.

I had that issue awhile back, when pulling up your crafting menu in the search bar at the top just type in "S+" might bring up the blocks you're missing in your craft menu and engram list. I know I had to do that in mine for awhile... just start to type in "S+" and would bring up blocks that would not show for me in craft menu.

I think you can still make a conversion table and that will convert any blocks into S+ or back to regular. That might help swap blocks between log ins... look for S+ Converter table in your engrams.

Could be, but I will say this. I am unable to convert the triangles to the Vanilla ones nor the Vanilla ones to S+ (I tried for giggles).

EDIT: I think I even tried the walls too? I don't think it works either. Yes I did use the converter and the blueprint maker from S+ as well.

np, I just checked again, I can see and find the stone triangles but the wood and adobe one is missing. Vanilla, ones. For how long idk. I type in "found" to search for crafting items with that in my bag, btw.
If this is more then just me, this will make converting S+ into Vanilla stuff more or less painful to say the least without removing S+... If not impossible since at least for what I tried will magically turn into S+ after a re-log.

EDIT: On my SP, S+ snaps now work for me after the sneaky update. :D Most of what I said above is now irrelevant. However, the new Vanilla items still magically turning into S+ versions after a re-log. Also note, from what I've seen you cannot convert them either; from S+ to Vanilla or vise versa.

It however is NOT acceptable behavior for a full release product.

I may change my review...

They didn't even test this ♥♥♥♥... That much is obvious!

Worse yet, it was already reported during the beta and they just released it anyway. This goes beyond incompetence to just plain contempt. If they even played the game for 5 minutes before releasing, they would have seen the issue. It's not some hidden feature no one uses, it's freaking core functionality on every single structure part.
