For the fog of war and explorer notes, you need to move the character save file.
Single player or non dedicated/dedicated servers that were hosted on your computer will not transfer to the new computer automatically, you would have to copy the save files to a flash drive or external hard drive and move them to the new computer.
Anything on other servers not hosted on your computer that you have joined will be saved to those servers and your steam account will find them automatically such as official servers.
To move all single player / Non-Official progress to the new pc, copy the full ark save folder. To only get the map showing properly, copy the local profiles folder across.
"Saved" folder is found in:
Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\
"Localprofiles" folder is found at:
Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved
Likewise if you only want your map and what you have uploaded to the obolisk for your single player / Non-Official games to show copy over the LocalProfiles folder to the new pc.
Just copy the steam game folder, instal steam on the new drive, let it start the installations for ya games (to do all the registry things), stop the download, paste your copied games into. Start steam, it'll finishes the dl in seconds (you pasted the files).
So I can just download it and everything accept my map and fog of war will be there, right?
Servers, whether official or unofficial, save player data server side, so you could log onto your steam account on a friend's computer and still access your characters. The only thing switching computers affects is your local saved data; single player, mods, INI settings, keybinds ect. The only way for you to lose your server characters were if those managing the servers decided to delete player data, effectively causing a "player wipe."
