Same ark account on diffrent computer
So I wanna get a better computer, but I have progress on this one. If I get the better computer, put my steam account on it, download ark and open it, will I have my same survivors?

And btw will I have all my stuff and dinos? (Obviously if they don't get killed)

For single player mode you need to move save folder.

For the fog of war and explorer notes, you need to move the character save file.

So your saying if I just download it on my second computer all my progress accept single player maps will still be there like my character, items and dinos. Right???

Single player or non dedicated/dedicated servers that were hosted on your computer will not transfer to the new computer automatically, you would have to copy the save files to a flash drive or external hard drive and move them to the new computer.

Anything on other servers not hosted on your computer that you have joined will be saved to those servers and your steam account will find them automatically such as official servers.

You'll need to just copy your program files of the steam folder..... If you didn't find this yet add me, and I can walk you through this process.

All official server progress will still be there besides your 'explored areas' on the map, you'd have to explore them again to remove fog of war.

To move all single player / Non-Official progress to the new pc, copy the full ark save folder. To only get the map showing properly, copy the local profiles folder across.

"Saved" folder is found in:

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\

"Localprofiles" folder is found at:

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved

Likewise if you only want your map and what you have uploaded to the obolisk for your single player / Non-Official games to show copy over the LocalProfiles folder to the new pc.

if you have a bad dl stream I recomand this.
Just copy the steam game folder, instal steam on the new drive, let it start the installations for ya games (to do all the registry things), stop the download, paste your copied games into. Start steam, it'll finishes the dl in seconds (you pasted the files).

I really care just about the progress on my official servers.
So I can just download it and everything accept my map and fog of war will be there, right?

Servers, whether official or unofficial, save player data server side, so you could log onto your steam account on a friend's computer and still access your characters. The only thing switching computers affects is your local saved data; single player, mods, INI settings, keybinds ect. The only way for you to lose your server characters were if those managing the servers decided to delete player data, effectively causing a "player wipe."
