Any mods that build prefab structures?
I am pretty terrible with building. I love good looking bases, houses, etc., but have 0 skill building them. Are there any mods that can auto drop prefab structures if I input the correct amount of resources?

Yes but either their quality is lacking, just simple starter stuff, abandoned mods etc.

Its not hard to build a 2 story 7x7 structure and then parameter walls around it with behemoth gates or the like. It doesnt sound like you're looking for aesthetics just functionality and that would do it for you.

It seems like in this game you have to be willing to watch a bunch of YouTube and then experiment a lot in order to get the hang of building really aesthetic structures, as it basically requires that you exploit glitches in the build system in order to make it do what you actually want. Lowering a foundation with a pillar is a good example. The devs probably didn't intend for pillars to create a lower snap point next to them, but they definitely should have included some way to create half-steps other than using the pillar glitch.

Build something in Fortify and then use the same design in Ark.
Fortify is actually for use in Rust but the foundations are exactly the same.

Best $2 i ever spent.

wait is it actually the same? like theres no inconsistencies with the angles of triangles/square foundations that would lead to angle mis matches? I might get it in that case

Other mods with building mats have half step structures. S+ for example used to have a half step greenhouse wall.

Survival plus mod has pre-built structures, but it changes the game play drastically.

Yes, I watch Aaron Longstaff's build vids, and they are pretty good for step by step. I really dig his designs, but wow it's tedious.

I love his stuff. It inspired me to see what else I could use those techniques for and I learned that by lowering a foundation by one and placing wiring on it you can run electricity under your floors. Not only does it look good but the foundations completely protect them. Someone fired an RPG into my metal base and none of the wiring was damaged, even at ground zero.

I'm surprised there isn't a build tool like that in game similar to Empyrion. Where someone can save a build and you can drop it (after input of resources). I did end up picking up the builder mod that lets you wear a hard hat and pick up your dropped items, so that will help. A big part of the frustration was gathering all the resources, and then having to regather them because a few pieces didn't place properly.

There is the structure saver mod. After you build something you can save it for easy rebuilding.
