Finding Rare Flowers on The Center...

So I'm on The Center, and I need Rare Flowers. I recently tamed a Therizinosaur, who are supposedly the best at harvesting Rare Flowers - even upgraded her Gentle Harvesting, or whatever it's called. Both the Wiki and a few other threads I was able to search out told me to go to the Swamp-biome, variously claiming that it could be harvested from white flowers in the water, or from tall orchid-like ones growing in the green swamp-areas.

So, I airlifted my Theriz down to the swamps near the floating island, and started searching. The 'white flowers in the water' bit was immediately proven wrong - you can't interact with those in any way, they're clearly just decorative. Whether on foot or on the dino, nothing I did affected them at all. The tall orchids, though... they were hard to find, certainly, but I finally located a cluster. Quite a few of them, too! But... they didn't drop ANY Rare Flowers. I pecked at them to start - that's the move that's supposed to be used for bushes, after all. Got me loads of regular berries and seeds and stuff, but nothing else. Then I tried 'tickling' them with the RMB-move. That got me a pile of fibers. I did both things repeatedly, to a bunch of swamp-orchids, and... nothing. Well, nothing I couldn't have gotten from a perfectly regular bush right outside my main base.

What am I doing wrong? So far, the only place I've found Rare Flowers are in beaver-dams...

Are you able to harvest them by hand? If not, I think you found the wrong ones. They're supposed to be pitcher flowers in the middle of the swamp. There's a thread that might help you... https://steamcommunity.com/app/346110/discussions/0/357286663693171328/

Yes, I found that thread, and those are indeed the exact flowers I tracked down. I... DIDN'T try harvesting them by hand, I'll admit. There were quite a few dangerous critters around, willing to give my Theriz a wide berth, but dangerous to me, so I didn't feel like jumping off.
Still, isn't the Therizinosaur SUPPOSED to be the king of Rare Flower Harvesting? If HE can't get anything out of them, why should I be able to? I mean, I suppose I could just fly back there and try to pick some, but...

They are indeed King of Rare Flower harvesting. The only issue is that TheCenter distribute resources in a weird way. I can confirm that they still harvest godly amounts on other maps just fine.

Another good place to get Rare Flowers is from beaver dams.

Yeah, like I said, that's the ONLY place I've found them so far. But, well... there just aren't that many of those, and they don't respawn very quickly, and it just annoys me to no END that I've got this beefed-up flower-hunting beastie but can't USE it... =_=

Have you tried adjusting the respawn slider at the settings before you got into your game (assuming this is a single player session)?

The Theri has 3 attacks, (lmb, rmb and C) did you try all 3?

Yep. LMB can't affect bushes at all - that's the one you use for cutting down trees. RMB is the 'tickle', which just gives loads of fibre, and C is the 'peck', which gives all the usual berries and seeds.

I still haven't found a solution to this problem! I tried harvesting those special pitcher-flowers in the swamp by hand, and DID get a Rare Flower. As in, ONE rare flower, after harvesting a half-dozen or so. Hardly efficient farming-rates. But the Theriz apparently CANNOT harvest them from there in The Center.

I've got some beehives by now. They need Rare Flowers to stay healthy. Quite a few of them, even! I'm spending annoying amounts of time flying around hunting for beaver-dams, and half the time they just contain wood, cement, and maybe some Rare Mushrooms. Surely, there must be a better way? Maybe there's some other dino that has been confirmed as being a good Rare Flower-harvester on The Center too?

There are mods to add rare flower and mushroom to the garden.

Ragnarok has the rare flowers everywhere.

Dododex website/app shows the best harvesters by resource.


Theriz are special cause they have the power vs delicate and multiple attacks for different things. Did you try all attacks?

I prefer mammoths for swamp harvesting.

Hmm...seems there is some wording in the name "Rare Flower" that is confusing people. As a hint, they did name it "Rare Flower" for a reason. In my games, I have multiplied the amount of rare flower you can harvest with each swipe. That is the only way you are going to get more rare flower. The only other alternatives would be to admin cheat some in or go to a map lie Ragnarok and harvest it from the patches of rare flower that are pretty abundant there then pass them back to your main game though an obelisk, if your main server allows stuff to be downloaded that is.

Tell that to the 638 Rare Mushrooms taking up room in my cupboard despite me never, ever actively TRYING to gather any. =_=

go the the snow biome and hit the bushes that a gray there is two kinds [not sure which one is the rare flower one so do both]and hit them with the type of attack i think it alt plus right mouse button and ull have more than u need

Alt plus RMB? First I've heard of that... you talking about when you're riding the Theriz?
