Are Allosaurus worth taming?

Ive heard some rumors that they are fairly useful, with some people saying a small group could even be good for boss runs because of the pack bonus. Anyone have input on the usefulness of this particular dino?

Rexes are overrated, use allos

Allos are capable of doing low level boss fights. If you were to breed them for fighting you could probably use them vs anything but the dragon on The Island.

Ye, in fact Allos, Theris, perhaps Mammoths, Spinos, etc are all capable of boss fighting, it's just that people use the rex because they prefer stale and robotic methods over new methods. I'd only recommend rexes for ♥♥♥♥ like Alpha Dragon.

But anyways, Allos have ways to outshine Rexes. Allos, for example, induce the gash effect, right? This means they take 5% of your max hp away REGARDLESS of armor, so taming a few could help you kill some of an alpha tribe's rex population, for example. Armor the Allos well enough and the rexes will likely have a hard time killing them, while your Allos would be destroying the rexes after 20 applications of the gash. They can also farm exp this way on titans, just make sure they're armored with a good saddle.
