Have you checked the spawn map? They are a bit spread out between the rivers. The spawn map also tells you other creatures in the spawn group to kill.

Try a wild Dino wipe.

Yeah as KitsuneShiro said you should probably try a wild dino wipe. When I played on my singleplayer world I noticed after a while it was like a barren wasteland when all the dinos died/walked away from my rendering area.

This is because the game was designed for multiplayer and activities will only occur a certain distance away from you meanwhile in multiplayer you will have players everywhere.

TLDR: To get a bit more life in your SP world occasionaly destroy wild dinos. I think the command is ''destroywilddinos'' however not sure.
