By hand feeding, you're putting the required food on your 0 key and pressing E to feed while the creature is not knocked out right?

If you knockednit out, put food in it's inventory and are making it eat that way, it's not gonna work.

In addition to serangles saying of things, if you wait too long between the intervals its asking to be fed it'll go down.

If the creature takes damage at any time it'll go down.

Also, there are some cases where the creature is bugged and cannot be tamed. Best kill those and try another one. They sometimes can bug if you feed then leave the subzone they're in and return because of stasis or similar. Also sometimes if someone else attempts to tame it, stops and the dino reverts to 0 it'll bug it too.

I use Bug Repellant + ghillie gear, i have the food on 0 and i keep walking slow behind them, not doing damage or getting aggro..

i have been trying for 2 days now and the food still going down + taming % i dont know whats going on xD

i give up.

The only thing I can think of is what retsam mentioned, if you don't feed it often enough, the taming progress will drop. You have to constantly follow it around waiting for the feed option.

Did you maybe potentially adjust dino food consumption settings ?
Or have any mods installed that might alter dino taming behavior ?

we have s+ mod

my friends also have tamed dinos dont need food, cuz ppl work etc etc

but thats tamed dinos, not wild xD i dont see why that gonna effect passive taming cuz we can tame knocked out dinos with food.

S+ is likely not the the problem no, but food consumption can effect taming, and there are several settings for this. So if the wrong one is changed it could potentially cause problems like this, for example:

DinoCharacterFoodDrainMultiplier
Affects both tamed and wild dino and thus also taming things.

TamedDinoCharacterFoodDrainMultiplier
As the name suggests, only affects tamed dino's, and thus no effects on taming things.

WildDinoCharacterFoodDrainMultiplier
Again its in the name, wild dino's only, and also effects taming because a dino being tamed = wild dino until tamed.

So let's say the adjustments are made to "DinoCharacterFoodDrainMultiplier" instead of "TamedDinoCharacterFoodDrainMultiplier", then it could be possible that this is causing your problem.

*edit: just to add to this, i dont have time to test atm as im in the middle of rebuilding something in singleplayer. But they way i believe the food setting would effect passive tames, is the feeding interval, witch would cause the interval be to long compared to the food its loosing. Resulting in the effect your describing, where food and taming % drop before you can feed it again. This could also be wrong, considering regular taming is working fine, but its worth checking either way.

If your are worried about things dying due to lack of food, look into Dino Storage by Lethal. Let's you put critters into a soul ball. Saves a bit on server lag, not having everything out, also.

Or better yet, get a stacking mod and higher harvesting rate. 10k berry or meat stack wont run out for months for casual play typically
