Wyverns vs Manticore.

So I play solo and never fought the manticore. I did manage to do the Dragon, Broodmother, and the giant ape on alpha with a metric ton of bred rexes and a yuty to buff them, but I've since then lost that save with all those good tames so I've basically started again.

I'm on Scorched Earth again and I'm considering going for the Manticore fight. I use Singleplayer Settings (don't judge lol) and want to know how well a bunch of Lightning Wyverns would hold up to the Manticore.

My best Wyvern currently is a lvl 236 lightning with 31k HP, 1380 stamina, and 752% melee, while being 95% imprinted with a 2x server bonus on imprinting. If I could find some more Wyverns at this level, how many would you guys think I'd need to take out the alpha manticore?

Or would I be better off just going back to the boring rex spam?

The manticore is a push over compared to the other bosses, so technically with SP settings on it should not be a problem DPS whise.

That said, i have never actually tested flyers against it, so i'm unsure how and i'ff the torpor attack effects them. That is basically the only problem i would see, my tek rex army from the island wasn't really challenged by it, even on Alpha with official like settings.

Its fun taking a level 15 or so dimorphodon that can do 13mil damage and watching the lil thing 1 shot it for giggles. :P

Ok thanks, I might give it a go. The lightning wyvern does so much damage I have a feeling it'd work.

Not quite sure how much the SP settings nerfs the boss, but going in with just the one might not be a great idea, without an backup from before the teleport :-P

You did mention a bunch, so my reply was inline with that assumption, not just a single flyer and you :-P

Yeah lol, I'd take in maybe 5-6 for a test after making a backup. I'm a bit worried about the AI though with the large turning radius, they might take too long to get hits on the boss.
