Ocean platforms are compelete trash

was trying to make a ocean base and was replacing the ceiling in the center after i went to move on to it with all my stuff and build a base when i noticed that the ceiling was for some reason misaligned, i had just put everything i had on the side on the platform in storages and cryofridge to move it in the base when i was finished building. when replacing the ceiling i saw that they where STILL misaligned, so i picked up the ceiling i had just placed that was around the middle of the platform and the ENTIRE PLATFORM just broke, im on SP so no one destroyed it, its metal so the creatures couldnt attack it, and i had placed it way more then 30 second before so i couldnt have mistaked it for the ceiling some how and picked it up (also i was in the middle anyway and far from the actual platform, shouldnt be able to select it anyway) when the platform broke so did all my stroages, fridges, and cryo fridges, along with every ceiling i had just placed and with so many things breaking, my game crashed, when i got back on, the platform was still gone and none of my items nor item bags remained, not floating and not anywhere at the bottom of the sea bed.
not only can you not build below or on the sides of it but it can just randomly break (i am guessing to a glitch), why are ocean platforms so buggy, bad, and limited!

TL:DR, picked up ceiling at the center of Ocean platform, it randomly exploded causing a crash, everything i had was lost

First off you can roll back in time. Go to your Ark install and search for your saves. There you will find a File Genesis.ark. You will see other Genesis files but they have numbers with them.

Example Genesis_08.03.2020_00.34.26.ark

Move the Current Genesis.ark to your Desktop
Take the above and change it to be Genesis.ark (Look at the time stamp to decide which one to use.)
Now when you load up your game you are back in time. Perhaps further than you want but.....

As for why the platform are buggy first question would be are you using mods? Without the dev kit being released mods are no compatible with Genesis so could be an issue. Also the platforms are a new feature. So that being so bugs are to be expected. I would consider reporting this issue so that they can fix it. If WC does not know about it they can do nothing to fix it.

Hope the instruction to restore your past save is helpful. Not sure if SP allows you to change how often your game saves. I only run dedicated servers on a private server rig. Something you should be able to do as well on your PC with Ark Server Manger making things easy to config well beyond what SP allows. ASM even allows to decrease or increase dino types.

I am willing to bet it was triangle ceilings.......These are super bugged at the moment. You can place a ceiling of triangles and delete one and though it looks supported on all sides it breaks the whole ceiling and even some walls 5 tiles away just join in and self destruct even though they are not even directly linked to the ones that broke
