You can make a server out of an older PC that has 16 GB of RAM and a mid range CPU. That will be able to host 2 modded servers. Use the NAS to store the backups and saves. That works very well if you have gigabit ethernet directly from the NAS to the server.
shows that it has been done. Truwrecks, most times you would be right - the DS1819+ comes with 4GB of RAM, I have upgraded mine to 32GB. That is more than enough to run a server.
That link shows it was done with Docker. The question is if it still works.
Why not post a question on the git itself?
Because it hasn't been touched for 5 years...........
That said i have no idea if the install adress is still correct (for the ark server), and as pointed out above Linux builds arent really stable most of the time, so doing this would be less then ideal.
More importantly, the account itself has not been active for about 3 and half years, closing in on 4 ;-)
He is still waiting for the Server to apply patch version 220.1 and restart.
Actually the CPU could be an issue, but you could, just for the sake of the experimentation, try it. CPU datasheet from Intel: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/97929/intel-atom-processor-c3538-8m-cache-up-to-2-10-ghz.html
(I wouldn't try it, usually I use an old laptop, but not so old, with an updated Linux Mint as my LAN game servers hoster... ...but it could be an interesting experiment, just for the sake of fun of experimenting)
I kinda doubt that as well........ ;)
Lol you know nothing on how code works. RIP
My session manager works perfectly fine, just not overly familiar with Linux, but feel free to elleborate instead of throwing shade.
