How to farm element on Genesis? (not purchasing through HLNA)
Or is buying through HLNA the only way to get it?

You can get a bit of element shards from the lunar biome rocks that give you ambergris. You can get a lot more from the red crystals in the volcano though theres a bunch near of it in there.
You might also be able to farm the arrival protocol more efficiently though. I haven't tried farming there yet though.

Thanks, even farming for shards is better than nothing. Esp for powering a generator or replicator.
By arrival protocol do you mean the final bossfight?

oh I thought of an alternate way. I noticed from the S+ transmitter that there are a ton of wild Tek dinos in the Lunar biome. Farming them for dust and then converting the dust to unstable element would be a way.

Is there element ore and charge nodes on any of the biomes to do the Abb way of crafting element? (I know the rest of the materials exist in genesis)

Yes, the arrival protocol is the boss fight

I don't think that that's possible here.

I wonder if the ocean boss drops element. That would be an indicator of the main boss doing so too.

The volcano area is the best spot iv seen so far from the red crystals.
There everywhere around the lava inside the valcano and scattered about outside it.
I tend to take a gas bag and a mining lazer grab what I can be for the magmasaurs agro

Oh, that's not what I meant. i guess I should've explained it when I posted it, it is pretty strange.
Without spoiling anything, certain enemies during the fight drop element when killed, and if you die during the first part of the fight, you can find your corpse at wherever you were before you started the fight. You should be able to start the fight, kill the enemies to gather some element, and then cryo any tame you were using, if you used one, take off your armor, and let yourself die. When you respawn, grab your corpse and there's your stuff.
I dunno how efficient this is compared to gathering in the volcano, but you don't need to worry about weight using this method. Since the element that gets dropped from the enemies is always 1 element regardless of your rates, if you have higher harvesting rates, that'd make mining element shards more efficient I think.

Volcano, Break the red crystals.

Mantis with high level pick gets mountains of shards from the red crystals

since shards can't convert back into Element,(as far as I'm aware) I was more looking for actual element.

EDIT: it is nice to know where to get lots of shards though without wasting actual element making shards.

Replicator.

The conversion rate is 100 shards = 1 element, and it works both ways.
As was said, do it at a replicator.

Mantis with a 200+ dmg pick works better than an Anky with 1k dmg?

Using the wiki would help you. I said it in another thread but looks like it takes some time for information to seep into your skull so let me pre kept the next question you have with “use the wiki”.
