HLNA Exchange Not Working?

I'm trying to use the exchange shop from HLNA, but it seems whenever I try to buy something it spends my hexes on some other random item. For example I finally got a tek generator, wanted to buy an element to turn it on, but instead it gives me hide. Or when I try to buy cementing paste it gives me narco berries, and buying chitin gives me thatch, etc.

It's worked fine for me up til today.
