The Genesis ocean biome is so laggy
Above water, it's fine. But the second I dip my head under the water my FPS drops from 60, to 25-30. Anyone else having this issue?

Genesis in general seems like the most badly optimised DLC yet, and abberation was pretty bad for optimisation when it released.

The bog and lunar biomes seem to be the most stable for me. But my god the ocean is completely unplayable. Doing missions with that framerate is near impossible, and I know it's not my rig, cause I usually run ark no problem.

Nope, and Genesis has hugely increased the frames I get overall. Normal for me was around 70fps with occasional drops to around 50fps if near a dino filled base. Since Genesis it runs 140-170fps.

For me its the opposite, the Lunar biome goes extremely slow for me. I read post about how the Arctic goes slow for others

The arctic is pretty slow for me if I'm just walking around on the floor, on a mount it's okay for some reason. For what I've seen, it's completely random as to what biomes lag. Either way, it's completely unacceptable that I was able to run this game at med-high settings at 70+fps before genesis, and now I've turned my settings down to med-low and I still can't hit above 35fps underwater in the ocean.

There was a recent nvidia update dedicated to Ark Genesis. Lunar was a lagfest for me until I updated the drivers.

Is there an available update for your graphics driver? If so, I'd update it and see how that runs.

Yeah I did this last night. I saw about a 2fps increase in the ocean, but still nothing playable. I was hoping it would sort things a bit but nope.

Does lowering any of the graphics option help? Maybe lower ground clutter and see how that improves? It's worth testing at least.

I turned my ground clutter all the way off. I usually have it about half full. No difference. Turning my settings down seems to have little-no impact under the ocean.

i know this is far fetched but there is definitely a over spawn somewhere i tested by destroying wild dinos and my frames went from 4-10 to 50+
