Help please? Single player obelisk "Item data" full of... nothing?
I've just noticed a pretty serious problem with my single player game and I'm hoping someone can help. I was going to upload some items from another Ark to use in the Genesis simulation. And even though I have no items uploaded, I've apparently used up 17 slots on the transmitter.

Does anyone know if there's a way to clear this, and either get the invisible items back or to reset the data on the transmitter? I'm assuming what happened is that I must have had some S+ items loaded when I first started the game after getting the expansion. The expansion disabled all mods (which I didn't notice right away) so all of those items were rendered into instantly invalid "null" items. And since the transmitter file is separate from the saved games, rolling back the transmitter data didn't fix it.

I don't want to delete my entire saved folder, because that would delete my character and all progress. I just want to clear the bad data from the transmitter / obelisk uploads. Can anyone suggest what I might need to do to fix this?

If its caused by mod items I am not sure of a fix besides maybe loading the mod and then trying to open the transmitter again. I have a similar problem with two aberrant deinonycus stuck in my my transmitter and they can't be downloaded on any map, even the one I uploaded them from

I've only ever had the same mods installed. The problem seems to be that brief instant where I started a game after Ark deselected all my mods - all the items uploaded were turned into invalid data, and because the profile is saved separately rolling back the world save didn't fix it.

I've been trying to get the achievements without cheating, and because Ark all my unlocked skins and stuff are *also* saved in the local profile data. If I wipe it, I'm pretty sure I lose all the skins and tek engrams I've already gotten. :(

Yep you would lose the tekgrams (they are connected to the character, not account) You would keep skins unlocked from achievements but skins like the corrupted skin that isn't achievement linked would have to be re-unlocked. You could try going to the ark support site and putting in a ticket to ask about them editing your file to remove those items for you, no idea if they can but its worth a try I think

You can delete any glitched out transmitter slots, but its likely that something modded is in there that you simply don't recall having uploaded.

The downside of clearing you transmitter data, is that you will loose any progress you had on characters with all dosiers and notes.

If you still want to delete it, then do the following:
  • Right click Ark in your library.
  • Goto manage -> browse local files.
  • Navigate to ShooterGame -> Saved -> LocalProfiles.
  • Delete the file there.

This will clear everything you have uploaded, characters/creatures/items.

I don't think this ever messed with my achievements, but im also not 100% sure, only for the specials skin like corrupted skin i think. Can easily cheat that back with teleport codes though, since there arnt a thousand of them around ><

You should also not lose any tek engrams doing this, they are linked to the other player profile in your map save folder.

Also there is this mod called magic box, which adds a 30slot box that can be picked up and transfered, I use it on single player so I only need to upload and download one or two items instead of a lot

It's single player, not official server. Even if they had the ability, time and interest in doing so, I don't think they have access to a file saved locally for a single player game. And because mods might be involved, their response (if they make one at all) is likely to be "Well, you used mods. Sucks to be you."

True. Lookup the magic box mod, it might help until you feel like deleting your profile data

I looked it up, I'm not sure how an Ender Chest / shulker box mod will help.

I'd rather not cheat. Since it seems to be the only choice, does anyone know of a mod that would allow me to reclaim the explorer notes and tek engrams I already have without having to explore the Island again? I'm willing to lose the event emotes, I'm in single player and they just clutter up the gear wheel. But I'd really rather not have to do the "tame one of everything" and track down the 55% of the Island explorer notes that I've already unlocked. I'm probably stuck doing the the run through all the maps for the Corrupted Avatar skins again.

Unless Singleplayer is different then LAN where it saves stuff, the way i posted above removes only dosiers and uploads.

You keep tek engrams, emotes etc .. again not sure if it messes with achievement progress, not sure how ark deals with that.
I also just tested this to be 100% sure that only dosiers and uploads get removed.

If your not sure, just rename it and add "*.old" at the end, and check it out yourself.

Not sure about mods for dosier unlocks, but i think there should be one just don't recall the name of it.
Dosiers is the anoying one tbh, have to console command those for as far as i know, but summoning and taming said dino and hoping it triggers.

For the tame one of everything, thats an achievement so it shouldn't reset. if tekgrams reset then every tekgram has a command that can be used to unlock it again, and for the explorer notes there is a command to unlock all of them, there are also various tp commands that can be used to teleport to each different one.

As for the mod, I figured it could help (and not be considered cheating if you use it solely for transmitting) by giving you more slots for the transmitter. so you could just craft one, use 18 of the slots in it (17 for your messed up slots, and one for the slot the box itself takes), and it would essentially replace the 17 slots that you have that are bugged.

Awesome! I thought it deleted everything even your character, I've never tested it on ark but thats how it does on Pixark which is similar. Its great to know that though now I can get rid of those two bugged deinonycus in my transmitter.
As for dossier/notes, the gamepedia has an unlock all command for them and several sites have tp commands for all of them listed

There are 2 player profiles, 1 in the map save folder this will delete your character on that map.
And 1 in the localprofiles folder, this is basiclly your cloud storrage (for a lack of a better word), it saved my behind several times just redoing the notes\dosier is a bit anoying if you have several characters on the account.

But technically you dont need the notes, only for the extinction skin i believe and the genesis one, since those are not achievements.

I went ahead and reset that file. I had made sure to extract everything I could actually see from the transmitters first (all non-bugged items and pets.) It did wipe all the explorer notes, including the HLN-A ones that unlock the Corrupted Avatar, and my progress towards the Extinction corrupted skins. Then I transferred maps. When I respawned I noticed it had also reset all my progress uncovering the map. :( I spawned with the achievement related skins (all the bone dino outfits I had unlocked, and the Fancy Saddles for the parasaur and ravager and so on.)

It also seems to have fixed another strange issue I'd been having, where there somehow seemed to always be *two* copies of my character uploaded. I guess I'll have to see if the strange second copy reappears when I move back to another map.

So it's not the best solution, but it does seem to have at least cleared the corrupted items from the data terminal.

This is good to hear, i hope some day they will seperate that files into transmitter data and notes files (or something like that). So we can more easily reset it instead of resetting everything (mods do indeed increase the possiblity of corruption by a lot), but i have been waiting for that day quite some time now sadly enough :(
