will this patch change something in the basic game ?
You will have the ability to spawn in all the DLC related things, or add them via mods once the mod tool kit is updated.
Not entirely sure if anything else changed though, might be a few small things we don't know off atm, but nothing spectacular id say.
Unknown balance changes, and apparently some fixes to issues that might possibly have been affecting maps for some people. Hard to say since they didn't bother to create patch notes.
Everyone has to download the new assets because the creatures can exist on any map now that they've been added. It might not affect you directly, but it's what allows people to tame Aberration creatures and take them to the Island, or move Extinction creatures to the Ragnarok map. If the assets only downloaded for people that owned it, DLC specific creatures would have to be permanently locked in their specific map.
I think downloading several dozen gigabytes of models and textures is a worthwhile trade for being able to have my wyvern on the Island, or rock drakes on Ragnarok.
technically you just pay for the map. so yeah you downloaded the all but you can benefit of most of it without paying.
apparently for now genesis is linked to based game so you have to dl the map no either way. but for other dlc you can still uninstall the one(s) you don't use to gain space.
make a back save of those if necessary for when you want to play on those again (should be done after each game session; but still reminder is good) :p
(note: New to game for free weekend before considering purchasing)

Yeah...
...I remember, before the @Steam devs ****ed up everybody's library page all to ugly ♥♥♥♥, we use to have a nice little section on the page that showed the all of the individual DLC packages that went with whatever game we selected to show and even gave us options to select/unselect what DLC packages we wanted to load/download to said game. Now it seems, the only I way I know of, to find the DLC packages, is you have to open the properties tab by right clicking the game on the side bar and hunt down the damn folder and waste precious time when we could be playing.

Sorry for invading your thread @max.gau, I hope your are able to resolve the issue you are having with ease with the advice from others more familiar with the game.
