Question about buying Genesis..
-Do I have to buy the Genesis season pass on steam? I got an update yesterday for almost 20 gb. I thought that was the genesis update. But when I logged on ark today and tried to play genesis..it took me to the steam store? So I have to buy it? Might sound like a dumb question. But why is it more then there other dlcs? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you have to have the genesis season pass.

There are two large expansions your getting part 1 now.. And part two end of year. So your getting two DLC's for 36 bucks.

Genesis Part 1 is out now, winter of this year part 2 comes out. Its a 2 part DLC.

Yes its forever.. Season pass in game terms usually means you get all DLC for a year after buying it.

You keep the DLCs, its not a yearly purchase. Only reason you'd have to buy something else is if they release another DLC.

This "season pass" means that you obtain everything issued during "season" and it is explicitely listed what it will be. Then you can play it all the time.

Nope that is not true at all.
You'll get what is defined in the Store Text of the Season Pass not more not less. In this Case it's Genesis Part1 and Part1.

It depends on the pass typically. Some passes say all DLC for a year, some say specific things. Either way, odds are the developer has an idea of what they are releasing, so it amounts to the same thing.

Too late. When genesis 1 was brand new, you could buy it separately, sort of. But now regular ark is like done done (they're working on Ark 2 now mainly). All the DLC's are sold in packs now. So Genesis 1 and 2 are a pack. Extinction and aberration are another, etc.

How so?

I bought Gen as soon as it was available and only ever recall seeing it as the Gen Pass.
Like that made sense to me at the time as its not really Gen1 and Gen2, which kinda implies a "sequel" second map. Its Gen Part1 and Gen Part2, though I know we normally shorten that to Gen1/Gen2 ;-).

Did you buy it individually? The page should still be up then. Can you link it I am curious.
