Okay did I sell it? can I go sit down now?
I disliked Scorched Earth and gave that one a negative review, Aberration was ok sort of, but the map sucked to build on and most of it was wasted. Extinction was cool, just not well implemented. The same can be pretty much said here, but here is the thing, we get so much for modders to work with! The biomes are so beautiful, specially the snow biome, new trees and fauna everywhere, new looks for old dinos (lava versions rexes look sick!) and new dinos that are actually fun, specially the turtle.
Most other games charge you like 20 euros for a mount, here you get all this for 15 and if you don't want to pay, fine, you still get it all for free. Soon modders will create new maps like Valguero but with all these new assets. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, can you imagine something like Valguero with all these new trees, updated lava and fire, swamps, oceans, it is going to be amazing.
Also they are focusing on solo players and pve players this time, not all just about pvp. Quests are really nice idea and a good way to be forced to adventure beyond your base area and see more of the map.
It is just, great ideas but bad implementation and buggines, poor optimiziation like always, but this time we get sooo many cool and new assets! Don't forget, it was all basically free, you only bought the maps if you bought the dlc, you can spawn everything in with codes or mods for free on any other map. So basically, thumbs up from me!
What about the ppl that didn't want anything new but still got the deepthroat? I don't really think they're caring about how much the shafting cost at this point. They just want their ♥♥♥♥ back to normal.
Unfortunately, it didn't escape being a buggy mess and issues are everywhere, once their fixed though, i can easily rate it 9/10
"Normal" has always been that each update/dlc release/ has been an increase in the game size.
Look we get it, you're ranting on almost any thread you can about the game size. Guess what? Its going to only get bigger over tine. Period.
So either roll with it or shelve the game until it matches your delicate sensibilities but table flipping over it just will more than likely not have the results you would want.
I play mostly on small community servers as well so the mini maps really strike me as being something rather tough/challenging for base building on larger pop servers since space is even more limited than normally (since smaller spots and lots of no building in mission spaces etc.
I like the aesthetics thus far though and some of the creatures. The Megaturtle for example is a bronto of the sea and I really like it. Hate the whirlpools though.
