But if you are going to pack up and go to Aberration, just bring some decent tools and armor to start, at least until you have a decent protected base to store your Island tames.
also aberration restricts many dinos , especially therizino or rexes. I reccommend to go ABE and EXTI later. A proper way in the story.
ABE has one of the most amazing content progression in any of the DLC, and EXTI is a DLC to test your best mutated or not dinos.
So I would recommend to start fresh, naked but with level gained on Aberration, and bring all your best dinos you think would be usefull to Extinction ( perhaps even gear )
I would travel light, keep your main base on The Island, and explore what the other maps have to offer first. Maybe a good travel dino like a thylo or barry (since barry is rahter versatile as well), longneck and some darts and kibble for taming.
You can also opt to finish the entire story on the island (killing all the bosses on what ever difficulty you like), this is what i did, but its not required to move around the maps.
