Wildcard ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the implementation of some of the S+ items when they made them vanilla components. They did not rename the assets.
Therefore on server restart the server looks for named assets that match its search. The first one it finds is what the loaded structure will become.
Some options:
1. Follow the S+ recommendation and disable integrated structures plus items.
2. Deal with it knowing its a known issue.
3. Manually delete the asset you don't want it to convert to from the game/mod files knowing an update/validate would likely replace it.
not been able to find it, and the change log is the only thing I can see (discussions are now disabled.)
Or more precisely what I want to know is how to disable the vanilla versions, if that results in the S+ versions restored. If it just results in the contents of the dedicated storage being deleted, I'd just make new S+ ones instead. I did test making a new S+ dedicated storage and using the "Consolidate" option worked just fine to pull the contents out of the broken ones, whereas trying to access the broken dedicated storage inventory causes the game to crash.
I played Ark long after the homestead patch until Genesis, and my dedicated storage (which I think used to be S+, but now isn't) was working fine, but now all of it requires repair (unofficial, no decay over time, in an area that couldn't be possibly be damaged by mobs, and adjacent to S+ Tek storage and other structures/objects that are undamaged, not to mention guarded by a lot of species X, and a lot of my best breeders for boss fights who all seem to be where I left them, surrounding my inventory/crafting area).
If there is a way to convert them back to S+, I don't know how (can't pick them up, and trying to use the new S+ tools results in nearby walls and floors being picked up instead, which could easily be user error, since this is my first time using the new tools).
So any tips you can provide would be very much appreciated.
The problem with fishing older posts out of the void is that they are probably no longer relevant anymore... This thread is a good example of that. Since this thread was resolved, S+ has had a number of patches which completely changed what we were discussing.
The automatic converting between homestead and S+ was corrected by the recent S+ updates whereby the S+ versions had their name changed to be unique. This resulted in a one time conversion of all S+ items to their homestead counterpart. But subsequent S+ items created would use the new asset name and therefore not convert on restart.
Given that orionsun has shutdown the discussions tab I can't link it to you... But also given this is a 5 month old discussion it is no longer relevant.
That said, the Super Structures page which essentially copy and pasted the Bug reports channel mentions it in the known issues.

As far as converting them back... Assuming they have the same crafting cost... Doesn't the multitool have a converter function?
If you have issues, just create new temporary S+ dedicated storage and transfer tool the resources into them. Replacing them as you go.
I really do appreciate your response, especially because of what I just said. Thank you so much!
You must repair the dedicated storage before you can pick them up or convert them.
