him adding localhost:27015, if his friend is running the server should serve what purpose exactly?
And ever thought about someone hosting a server behind a router he has no control over?
Tell your friend its not working, and tell him to fix it, considering your connecting to his network via VPN the problem is likely to be on his end :)
Unless your talking about the fish used in sushi, although that would be wierd to connect with a fish ...
And as far as Hamachi goes it seems that it is just a simplifying VPN software so basically he had to use Hamatchi.IP.other.Guy:27015 to find the server the way you described.
But what do i know about Hamachi.
tell me about it
Well you know, as long as you don't share any technical details that might help, all we can do is play a guessing game.
Since I seldom use community,I don't know that I need to share technical details...
Well for example you mention IPv4 specificlly, does this mean you are getting a ipv6 adress from the hamachi VPN ?
What LAN IP is the server on ?
What adress are you using to connect to the server, when you are connected to the hamachi VPN ?
What IP settings do you have once connected to the hamachi VPN ?
Can you ping the server when connected to the hamachi VPN ?
And there are more questions, but they kind of depend on the awnsers to the above once.
Regardless of how much you use communities, sharing technical details with issues/problems/errors is normal even outside of gaming communities like steam.
You dont tell your car mechanic you car isnt working, how do i fix it ... atleast not without being asked another 20 questions about what exacly isnt working :P
