With boosted breeding you have to basiclly make a compromise, do you want 100% imprinting on low end creatures (dodo's, parasaur etc), or would you rather have 100% on the bigger once (allo's, rexes, giga's etc).
There used to be this spreadsheet you could use to ballance things out, but sadly that got broken some where around Extinction.
I usually just fine tune it as best i can, and place the S+ nanny down for the once that dont quite work out (because yes the nanny when active imprints the babies as they grow for you, and hand feeds them if it has the berries/meat). Or if i have a lazy day, i just let the nanny deal with all of it :P
It a matter of taste tbh, the nanny is widely used by many unofficial servers and singleplayers, though there are other mods out there that offer the same functionality.
With the nanny the settings really dont matter to much, change them to what ever feels right for the time you can spend on the game.
It's not great no, its works mostly .... and thats about all you can say about the hand feeding part lol
