Catching a cheat

If I have someone on my private server that I suspect is cheating... how do I confirm it?

..... the simplistic answer is.... you dont need proof.... you only need suspicion.

If your standards are higher..... reasonable suspicion.

Higher still..... a concrete definition of "cheating" as applied to your server.

There are ways to pour through server logs for chats and duping etc....

Ive never had to bother with that route so i cant tell you.

Most common 'cheating' is meshing and/or duping.

Meshing is easy.... duping is not.... unless someone provides screenshot/video proof.

But in the end..... this aint no court of law...... nor is it a democracy.... you are a dictator.

Depends on what you think he does, if you thinks he's duping take a series of 15Minute saves, fire up a server duplicate and check how the ressource he has do change with in 15 minutes.

Server logs give you ♥♥♥♥ all information beyond chat and some deaths.

Have tried to troubleshoot issues there before and it's a waste of time.

I think he is doing something with resources or duping possibly. We are using the Primal Fear mod and he seems to have endless resources and ammunition yet doesn't spend any time farming resources. Tames tons of animals.. yet doesn't have the egg farms that others have. It is hard to explain but I have been playing long enough to see that it really doesn't add up. Especially considering he just learned about the game and started playing about 2 months ago.

Egg farms?..... they havent been a necessary evil since the kibble rework... as ll they'd need is eggs for exceptional kibble.

I would also question his alleged inexperience.

That's why ive never bothered... you would have to hope that they'd talked openly about it in tribe chat.

Realy OP..... just upload your own character... or backup your character profile.

Then make a new one and force yourself into their tribe and rifle through their stuff.

But tbh.... how can you tell if they Never farm stuff? Do they have Zero farming dinos?
