Extinction - Mech degradation?

Been playing Extinction since it came on, but on a server of a friend I have noticed a strange thing going on - the Mek is sitting not being used, not being piloted, but it is gradually losing health steadily over time. While there is the self repair, that doesn't work when I am offline and the damage keeps happening. Its not being attacked, its miles away from anything dangerous, just wanted to see if anyone else has had anything similar happen.
