How do I pass the night/sleep?

I've had this game on my radar for a while and decided to play it during the freee weekend. I'm about to pull the trigger and actually buy the game but one extremely annoying feature in this game is completely ruining the experience for me: how in the heck do I make the night speed up or sleep? I've never played a survival game where this wan't in the game. I understand that in the multi-player servers this wouldn't work but I'm only really interested in single player and quite frankly sitting around in the dark while letting the game idle until it becomes daylight again is something I absolutely refuse to do. I have limited gaming time and this would just be stupid. So is there a mod on the workshop that will let me pass the night?

you can change the night time speed in single player. the night will go by in a few seconds if you set the right values.

cool. What's the best value to set it at? 0? And can I change it back if I don't like it or I get items that will make night more attractive?

There is little difference between night and day so most players change the gamma setting and play the same way regardless of time of day.

In the console enter "gamma 4" at night and "gamma 2" during the day or adjust to your liking.

The options menu also allows you to keybind 2 gamma settings to easily switch between night and day settings.

hit tab and type gamma 5 then at day time type gamma if u dont wanna mess with the cycles

I think higher numbers is faster night cycles. Speed = 5 should do it.
