Can't join any unofficial Ark servers?

My friend and I have been trying to join unofficial ark server for the past hour but none of them works? It usually says: 'Check if the server is running the latest version of the mods'. Or something like that...
Does anybody know how to fix this?

Unofficial server owners have to keep their servers updated. With the new dlc and it’s hot fix patches, any server owner not right on top of things will leave you unable to join. Bottom line it ain’t you, keep trying.

Do you know a server which we can join for now? We'll probably be gone b4 next week to join other server. Just want to play RN

Also I recommend using Battlemetrics.com instead of the ingame search. It has far better search functionality including letting you look at current and historical activity. Where this might e useful atm is any unofficial with more than a few folks on it is more likely to be up to date atm.

Check the server advert subforum. It’s all unofficials and presumably owners actively advertising atm have their servers current.

You could come play on this pve server I found last week. Lots of mods, but namely ARK Eternal. Makes the game very difficult. Takes a long time to download mods, but we definitely need more than 5-8 players. Worth the wait if you like mods. 3x exp, 15x gather, 30x tame

Lots of mods increases the chance if him being unable to get in, since it only takes one. Are you sure the owner is on top of updating? Also lots of mods means the owner will likely need to take the server down often as those mods update to be current with the new patches.

ServerOfTheHawk-Extinction-S+ is updated, and they run light mods that are QoL so doesn't take much from the base game. It also runs close to official settings, save it uses a custom exp lvls up to 390 if you have a char with the former dlc bosses transfer in. 2x XP and 6X tame. We use Immersive taming mod. Other than S+ its the biggest mods we use. "IT" make for a more rewarding PVE experience for us. As you can choose not to finish a tame and gain wild allies that help you out by protecting you and also bringing you gifts. Or you can finish the tame when ever you want and gain them as a partner. HP is set a little higher for Dinos and Humans, so as to not die as often. But with 5k hp you still die pretty fast to most things. It just makes it so you aren't one shot mainly.

We look into other mods, but discuss with the Server before implementing them. The World Turtle disaster of 2018..... ahem the mod is neat but not ready for normal use. A lot of the server were excited and built bases on them. Expensive bases, then we found out about the fall damage they take and clipping deaths. So while they could be used in the water fairly safely bringing them on land was not the case.
