Received multiple tek replicator engrams but can't craft???

Hello, I just started a single player play through of extinction, and I've done multiple Orbital supply drop events so far. 2 yellow, 1 blue, and 1 red. All have given me the tek replicator engram each time, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to craft it or where to even find it. After looting it from the ground, it just disappears every time i get the engram. I do have the s+ mod installed, not sure if that matters or helps. But the only clue i saw on the tek replicator engram before picking it up was "can be crafted from supply drops" which I haven't found one yet or don't understand what they mean. There was no option on the orbital supply drops to craft anything whatsoever, just the option to start the event, lower shield, and when done eject the loot. Any help at all would be severely appreciated.

I also have got alot of the tek rifles,swords and armour pieces and wont be able to use those either cause I dont have the engrams unlocked. Sucks I have to cheat to unlock engrams on an unofficial server to unlock those. Idk what official players wanting to start over on a new map are suppose to do. Hoping its a bug and those are things your'e suppose to be able to use no matter what.

What I mean by that, is it gives you the engram, but not the ability to craft it unless you earned it. You still have to unlock the ability to craft it by normal means, but aren't completely locked out of being able to forever in case you have no more points.

again, this is assumption. Until someone who has done the bosses, but does not have the engram learned, confirms this.

why give an engram for a tek replicator though if you have to do bosses on other maps or possibly the titans? its not like theres an ascended version lol

I have fought the bosses in an effort to test this theory and I can confirm you do not get Tekgrams from defeating the boss. The only way to obtain Tekgrams is through the Orbital Supply Drop. As Dr. Zara Love said, the tekgrams aren't working in the way they are supposed too. I have been testing obtaining Tekgrams in many different ways and still no luck. It seems to be a big bug within the game itself.

The game supposed to be based on progression through the maps- ie by the time you get to extinction in thheory you shold be max lvl and ascention.

I don't mean extinction bosses. I'm talking about island/SE. The intended way the game path is, is bosses and ascension. You're supposed to already know tek before coming to extinction.

my inventory is getting worse lol, also can confirm all the tek armor bp that i have found go to my invneotry like a normal item but without a replicator im not sure if i can make them without having learned the engram

Jen in the extra life 25 hr stream was asked if staying new was a good idea and she yes and even recommnded doing just that and implied that you would be able to do all the things on extinction as a new character and since extinction is all about tek that would mean you should be able to use those engrams from the crates to get tek. I really dont think they are working as intended. Yes I know how the previous maps worked and its a progression thing. It just doesn't make sense to have the tek replicator engram drop to craft it and then not be able to even use it cause you didn't do a boss on another map. Maybe for the upgraded tek items like the armour,sword,and rifle it makes sense you would need to unlock but not the replicator. So that just makes me think you're suppose to be able to craft these items but its just bugged.

yeah but just for the replicator that's still strange. i mean they said they wanted the cryo system to be easily usable and the solution for tame cap; which it is since you can drop capsule from crates and they don't requiere element to craft ,neither does the cry fridge.

except...you need replicator to craft the fridge which is necessary otherwise in 30days servers are just gonna be back tame cap.

in a way it doesn't make sense x)

I could of misheard her or misunderstood what she said at one point. Also have you tried the red crate drops? They are no walk in the park. So they arent really imo giving them for free. You have to earn those just not through a boss fight which imo is easy the only hard part about those is finding a good rex bp lol either way I think it sucks for official guys and everyone on unofficial starting over is just going to cheat to get those unlocked. Would of been fun to have the ability to get tek in those drops and use it. Having to farm those drops. Oh well.

UPDATE***

Ok guys so I've done a lot of testing since posting this, and have unlocked all the Tek Engrams the official way, no commands nothing, gathered the mats on each map and did each boss. So I have all the Engrams natural, 2 Alpha acensions, and am max level. I'm starting up Extinction today and will update after I do my first OSD to see if I can finally make the Tek replicator. I've had the option on every map before this last night. My guess is that sadly IT IS tied to unlocking the original engrams before doing extinction. But I'll confirm this later when I do an OSD.

So when doing the forest cave last night the boss console at the end had the option for me, BUT... this was after having the admin install the mod to learn tek engrams without killing bosses. i am pretty sure that means u can't craft it without learning it through the skill tree.

ps it had nothing to do with my crafting window so the ones in there from drops were useless as i used the one in the right side of the windows when using the console

FYI guys, the tekgram for the replicator vanishes if you die. If you have died since picking it up from a drop, then you need to get it again.
