The map is cool. I like it better than aberration.
Do you play modded? If so,you could always wait for modded content.
Ive been enjoying it. The new dinos are so much fun. There's not a big quantity of them, but their quality is great. The map feels smaller with limited biomes, but it's supposed to be a jacked up earth.
I haven't had any crashes, and minimal glitches so far (I will say they need to fix the freaking snow biome.. The mesh there has some issues).
The map alone is so, so beautiful and the addition of pre-ark structures (there's apartments and stairways and sidewalks AND LIKE LAMPPOSTS AND PICNIC TABLES ASDHAKLSDJH ITS SO COOL) is honestly something I LOVE to see because it feels so NEW and exciting to explore. There's so much to this map, it FEELS HUGE.
It's got the usual frustrations of a new map, of course. New dinos to devour you. Spots that you definitely can't visit until you level way up (like the desert where you just suddenly starve to death! love that place!) but that's the appeal of the game. You have to learn and adapt to explore the whol map.
One downside is that so far I can't figure out a way to get inside any of the apartment structures and that would be so damn cool, but I mean I understand that would probably break the damn map as far as loading and such goes. Still would have been neat!
I think this may be my new favorite map, and Ragnarok has had that title for a looong time. I'm so eager to get a full feel for it. I will say it doesn't feel like the HARDEST one, but it's definitely very challenging and fun to figure out.
some things i really dislike IE lack of different dinos
but i know i will play the crap outa it and get my money worth
Map has kinda blend color, and remind me too much aberration which I did not like.
Dinos seems to be reskins like aberration except the robot ones (maybe 3 robots + titans?), so for what Ive seen I rate 4/10, didn't make me want play the game again.
I uninstalled the game again without launch it once.
If you have a community cluster to play on it could be really fun.
If you don't buy the Extinction DLC, what are you doing with your life?
The Extinction DLC brings in the true power of the ARK. You can craft scout drones (Scout Drone Race anyone?), along with another powerful, craftable tame that will never let you down. There will NEVER be a shortage of Element supplies, so you can easily make all tek gear, that's if you got all the non-element resources at hand.
You can even craft this massive mech-like creature called a "Mek", to help you fight off practically anything, you can even use them to face off with the true monsters of the ARK, Titans!
Not satisfied yet? There are even more interesting challanges, with Corrupted Dinos. Though impossible to tame them...no, seriously, you can't tame them...they can drop some useful loot. Though their special drops purposes are unknown (to me), they are indeed valuable.
There's a new Wyvern type, The Forest Wyvern! I haven't seen it, but it must be interesting to fight, or possibly snatch up an egg from its nest, if they even lay eggs. Oh, but watch out for corrupt wyverns.
The wastelands are an absolute hellish place to be, but some of the resources harvested there are worth the troubles of starvation, and being swarmed by corrupt dinos.
The Red Obelisk has a Scorched Earth feel to it, as all SE dinos spawn there. The Green one represents The Island map, nothing too special about it. I have yet to find the blue one, but i think it represents the aberation.
There's a lot more that even I haven't found. So what are you waiting for? Empty your wallet for this DLC, and you'll never regret anything, or you can go play Fortnite instead.
Holy SuS I should get paid to type such a message like this. I'ma go post it as a review right now.
Ever been out in the real world? Forest, desert, or other land areas. They are mostly land.
