Extinction is the final ascension after doing all the other maps. They don't need to, and I hope they don't. The mechanic is cool. If you're in single player you can unlock them yourself. If you're in official you can hop to the others and learn them. If you're on unofficial the server owner can unlock them. It doesn't need to be enabled by default.
though i do agree extinction should have all resources and engrams available from SE and AB, considering it has both maps dinos and biomes.
Other than reaper kings (corrupted) what other AB beasties have you seen ?
Likely its to prevent people that haven't bought the Scorched Eartch and Aberation DLC's from accessing the crafting recepies.
They might be able to unlock the recipes on the new map for people that owns the DLC's but it does depend on how its coded. If its hard coded so that you can only unlock them on the correct maps then it might require a lot of code rework to change.
rock drakes so far. i thought i saw roll rats and ravengers at a distance but as i got closer, turns out they were daeodon* and those defense unit robot things. pretty bummed tbh.
Might be a good reason for Abberant items but not for Scorched items. The Scorch engrams can be obtained from Ragnarok that is a free map. Then they can at least unlock the Scorch ones.
But you do raise a valid point I didn't think of before.
I wasen't aware that you could unlock the SE engrams on ragnarok (Im assuming you still have to own the DLC?). That does undermine the argument quite a bit. :P If thats the case then i see no reason why they couldent do the same on the new map (Since they would allredy have support for it in the code).
Pretty sure you don't.
You don't. That's why SE owners was furious when Ragnarok was officially added to the game for free as then non SE owners got all the assets for free. Apart from the SE map itself.
