They also guarantee a crystal drop, where otherwise its just a chance on feeding. If you want the most efficient generator in something as rare as an element dust gacha, you want to be able to feed them both pellets and stone to get an almost constant supply of crystals with 180 dust in every one of them. Beyond 140% crafting skill in my experiences so far have been that you start getting a lot of gear instead of resource crystals, which is bad for a rare resource gacha. If you just want a gear generator then tame one with no rare resources that's high level and by all means dump every point into crafting skill.

That is intresting info, havnt played around to much with pellets yet, mainly because i play solo so i dont really need a million and one black pearls :P
Might play around with my spare one after the next bug fixes.
Watch the colors on their back. During normal feeds it almost never shows particle effects and there's a chance for them to drop a normal crystal. When you feed them a pellet, colored particles will start to float on their back and the next feeding they will drop a crystal with a chance for it to be a loot crystal. If the particles are grey and their face is sad its because another gacha is too close to them. They can also grow multiple crystals at the same time.
There seems to be a sweet spot in the crafting skill where you can get mostly max quantity resource crystals very quickly by parking 2-3 snow owls in front of the gacha so it keeps picking up their pellets as they puke them up. Then you just keep packing the gacha with stone and its a resource generator. But if you go too high on the crafting skill then you start getting lots of gear crystals instead of resource crystals during buffed feedings. Not bad if you want a gear generator but really bad if it took over 40 gacha tames to find one that produces the resource you need.
wait wait..so i can just park my owls in front and my tamed gacha will pick em up? does it just have to be parked? set to wander?
because so far i have been manually putting the pellets on the gacha.
and today i heard from a tribe in my server that if you use the heal technique you can force 5 pellets to come out in 1 shot from 1 owl.
Yes with a doedic, for as far as i know boosting melee on a dino is not that effective anymore, was nerfed a while ago.
Yes the Gacha is automatic poop collector, not need to set it to wander just close to anything that poops.
I have not yet had 5 pellets in 1 shot from a single owl, but you can force it that way cause it drains the stamina and regening that takes food ;)
Great way to force kibble on the go while taming them in the forest biome ;)
Yes. The Gacha will pick up literally anything in front of them. I have a lystro I park in the mix there to boost XP for the owls and gacha and he even picks up the poop from that thing, and will feed on it if he gets enough. They will pick up ANYTHING though so don't drop anything you don't want to lose. Pellets for buff and Stone for feeding are the most efficient however.
They nerfed Snow Owls pretty hard so its not that easy to get pellets anymore. Before the nerf you could activate heal and get multiple pellets as the owl regened stamina. Now you have to do it 4 or 5 times to force out 1 pellet. That's why I park multiple owls now and just let them naturally puke them up.
