bola not working in extinction?

does anybody have the same problem that theres no hitmarker when throwing a bola? i doublechecked and was face to face to a ptera and threw the bola right into its face. it didnt connect. tried it 5 times. it appears as it just went through the ptera. anyone experienced the same/similar?

I'm getting pretty weird behaviour on them, inside the city they work fine, bola'd a dodo, parasaur and enforcer. Went outside into the wasteland and it stopped working couldn't bola a ptera or corrupted ptera, went back inside the city, bola works again.

There seems to be a border right along the highway/wasteland where i can step to the right, bola no worky, step to the left bola worky.. able to replicate all along this border, as far as I kept testing. Is thIs intentional? I saw some dusty windy particle effects.. maybe it's too windy close to the wasteland?

the bola didnt work for me inside the city. strange. i havent stepped outside the city yet.

The bloa worked fine for me in the city both times i used it.

Hosi, are you using any mods?

Some may interefere with the bola. I think ones that potentially use a sphere overlay or something?

Bola is not working fo rme and i am in the forest..I was able to bola 1 dino out of like 30 bolas I threw. They don't make the ♥♥♥♥♥ sound of even hitting the target..just disappears. I tried a parasaur, raptor, moschops, troodon and dilo. I was able to bola the raptor one time out of all that but didnt work any of the other attempts.

Valkyrie, yes, i used mods but i removed them since i figured it had something to do with them. unfortunately vanilla didnt make any difference to the bola problem.

AlphaBoyZz: exactly this happens to me. until now, i threw maybe 20-25 bolas and i heard it once. but this was against 2 raptors and i couldnt see if he was immobilzed, since they were right in front of me and i got pinned down.

It seems to only work in certain areas of the map.

Im experiencing the same thing, it doesnt seem to work anywhere in the map when at range, even if the bola connects visually nothing happens out of 30+ tries. I can get it work if I get as close as physically possible to the dinos but this makes using a bola on things like a tapejara very difficult if not impossible.

I am having the same issue. Bolas seem to explode as soon as they leave my hand, like they are impacting the ground. Works fine in Sanctuary, but not sunken forest or desert south.

Looks like people were having this problem with bolas in the underworld of the Center map as well. Can't tell if it was ever resolved.

if they work fine for you in sanctuary, i have to re-test it again. this phenomenon occured to me in sanctuary (where i spawned) and tried to bola raptors/pteranodons.

only reason i can think of why it doesnt work is, that im too close to the border of sanctuary.

I think there is an issue with ranged hits registering in general. Every video or stream that I've watched, I see people shoot a dino, no possible way that it missed, and it doesn't register the hit. It is much, much more common than it used to be, happens multiple times during one tame. I think that this issue could also be the reason the bola is being wonky for some people.

My crossbow hits never miss but bolas randomly don't work for entire sessions. I just tranqed a frog from height because bolas didn't work, all this on my server on my lan. It may be that it's just in the canyon or under see level, it wasn't exploding in my hand tho I know that, it flew far and right thru every target
