I have checked Workshop for mods for all seasonal events; Ark spooktober, jk, The turkey trot, and Winter Wonderland, and nothing but free cosmetics has shown up. Winter Wonderland is the only one I care about using, but just thought I should see.

So I copied and pasted into tab and hit enter, and nothing much happened.
I expected a lag and then a transition to some wintry.. thing, but nothing.

and I also added a 4 on the end of the winter wonderland part, and again nothing.

What do you mean you pasted it into tab and press enter ?
You mean that while in game you opened the console, paste it in there, hit enter and nothing happened ?
If that is what you have done, no, nothing is going to happen. For single player it goes into the Set Launch Options under ARK properties.
For a server, it goes into the ini. file

This Event can be manually activated with the server console parameter: -activeevent=WinterWonderland.

For Single Player: Right click in your Steam client on the game's name in the Library, choose Properties, tab General, button "Set Launch Options...", enter the options. But some options won't work this way, especially these starting with a ? (question mark). Try to put them into the section [ServerSettings] of the GameUserSettings.ini

It is not a console command.

It is a launch argument/parameter in steam properties for the game for SP...

Or a launch argument for private servers.
If you have a paid host and can't figure it out. Contact them for assistance because it can be done

you right click on ark in steam library then click properties then click set start parameters and paste it in there. in saying that this was working until recent update now it is not working for me
