How does raptor claus work?
Raptor claus sometimes crosses my area but sometimes he doesn't, how does he work because I really want his loot. I'm on SP.

He yells hohoho, spawns at a random location on the map, then follows a random path while dropping presents for a certain amount of time and then flys off. that is all there is to it.

The the moment you hear the notification take to the air and search for the white beacons/present drops

I camp on the Red Woods mountain just before midnight. From there I can see his trajectory by the second drop and get all 6 of them on single player. Phlinger Phoo put out a good youtube on his ABCs of Ark just today. He shows you how to get them.

Santa Raptor each night flies a different flight path. He'll drop typically on most time default settings for night time(at midnight) 4-5 presents along is flight path. Best way to grab them before dawn is to have a very fast flyer. When Midnight hits and the message goes out, fly up high and if you got the farthest rendering distance settings, you can see along one corner of the map what looks like a comet streaming in the sky, thats him.

Fly to their path and you'll see yellow box dots that will grow in size to be the presents once you're close. Start with the first dropped, and the second it lands, loot as soon as possible. It sometimes helps if you can also clear dinos trees etc around where its going to drop before it drops too. Once looted, move to the next.

Becareful tho, loot (especially the coal) can get very heavy so consider setting creative mode on or using a really good weight based flyer too(again that is fast).

Coal and mistletoe that are looted can then be placed into the inventor of santa gachas too. Use mistletoe first. You can put 1 at a time in their inventor. The gacha will then eat it and drop a crystal most of the time. Some times they'll not but most of the time they will. If for some reason the gacha wont eat after a while, find another gacha. Some just dont eat much and others eat tons. I also tend to keep the crystals in inventory until the mistletoe and coal have been crystal'd out.

If you have the settings in single player to where your beacon drops are at the highest quality, so too will be the gacha crystals.

Santa raptor presents loot is almost always mistletoe/coal with random chances of the new chibi pets and many other types of loot such as weapons armor, resources, xmas decorations, cryopods and more.

Gacha crystals will usually be either xmas decorations, skins, weapons, armor, and chance for the chibi pets.

Raptor claus spawns at maximum height at a random spot on one border of the map at midnight server time (hold H key to see time) You will hear and see the hohoho message when he appears. Raptor claus then crosses the map to the far side in a straight line, occasionally dropping a bright Yellow gift. It descends slowly like a beacon drop, but without the pillar of light. So when you hear raptor claus, jump on a flying dino and fly up above all of the terrain so you can see clearly and look for far away yellow lights those are the slowly descending presents. if you cant spot any of the yellow gift lights, head towards the center of the map. Once you see the gifts, go get them :)

The first time I heard Ho Ho Ho I waited for Raptor Claus to show up at my fireplace. I then looked it up with Google and find it's a pain and decide I can go without anything from Raptor Claus. By the way it's a waste to kill the Gacha, except I felt I was giving flying Raptor Claus the finger when I did.
