Install DLC on SSD
I have ark on my SSD, but when i download one of the dlcs then they download on one of my HDD's. Is there a way to change that? I want them on my SSD. There are 180GB left on my SSD, so the space should not be a problem.

You can change the file path to where Steam downloads I believe just google it.

Didn't know you could install DLCs separate from the main game.

Not sure if this is it, but:

Steam->Settings->Downloads

The top button should allow you to set the default game library, the default one is the one used for installation unless it asks you where to install (but in that case you would not ask said question i recon).

You default library is most likely on C: atm, and thus DLC is installed to that location.

It is already on F

In that case i dunno then, Ark is on your SSD, ARK is on F.
If the default library is also set to F, then DLC should install to F not C.

I think i know how i can fix it, i just have to copy the things in my steam download folder on C and paste it on F. Then delete it on C and i have the dlc on F. Thanks anyways guys!

The DLCs don't install to the downloads folder though. The steamapps\downloading\ folder should be empty after the cleanup phase of the install is complete.

Once installed, the maps should be located in two main folders (for paid DLCs):

..\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Maps\
and
..\ARK\Shootergame\SeekFreeContent\Maps\

The additional assets for the paid DLCs (part of the base game) will be in their respective folders in:

..\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\ScorchedEarth\
..\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Aberration\
..\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Extinction\

The Free DLC maps likewise install to two folders:

..\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Mods\
and
..\ARK\ShooterGame\SeekFreeContent\Mods\

I don't think that it is even possible to install the DLCs to a different drive/Steam Library. The one method I'm aware of to do it the folders still need to be there where the base game is installed and you use folder junctions to link them to a different drive.

I'm not sure why that is, maybe it is still downloading them to the C drive, but the extracted files should still be going to F (if that's where ARK is installed)

To the OP this is the answer. Steam downloads to its download location, typically the drive steam is installed on, and then copies to the game once completed.

There is no** way to have the DLC installed into another location to where the game wants it to be.

That being said in windows 10 you can use folder junctions to relocate any folder to any other internal disk drive. So if you want to move the download cache... you can. Just use a folder junction. In laymans speak, its kinda like a shortcut.

For guides on how to use this, google "windows 10 folder junction".
