Exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG')
Can anyone help me fix this error? I tried running -norhithread with no success. It's still crashing no matter what.

Everything is updated, no mistake has been made. This is a common issue, however mine is not fixed by the launch options.
That’s my point tho... you might benefit by rolling your driver back.

Its a bug with the unreal engine. Epic did fix it but i dont think ark is on the newest build. Some people will tell you to under clock your graphics card but thats not going to help. If you run in DX10 it will fix it but the game looks bad

I changed my TdrDelay and it seems to be more stable. (I freeze for a couple of seconds but I don't crash). I love this game, but they need to fix this...it was unplayable! :/

boys i was having this problem im with zotac 1080ti amp extreme clock boost 2025 i could play ark for months without hard problemas some random crash, nothing new in this game, but when i get new ssd this problem started i clean install windows. MY FIX getting back 399.24 nvidia drivers and download driver booster 6.1 free and act one by one ur pc drivers the same app will tell you to download advanced system care 12 i did and clean all my windows reg ( if you gooign deep about this problem this is one of the most problbly causes WINDOWS REGISTERS)this app will clean your system reboot as many times as you neeed then try to play ark it worked for me wihthout uninstalling ark 2000 times.
Hope is working for you guys if its tell me lot of people is having this issue and its angry wasting 2.500€ for playing this game but it doesnt work just let me know if its working for you too guys :)

i got 2 new systems for me and my gf with both 1070gtx inside and we both got the same errors, she more than me, shooter game crashed with d3d error and windows made a bluescreen with bad pool caller, i made the trick with the TDR Manipulator and disabled the delay timer, since then we got no more freeze to bluescreen.

if you read about tdr manipulator is only a mask for your probleme i recommend try to find some old nvdia drivers working well with your gpu and look for latest drivers on ur pc(not nvidia)

Roll back your video drivers. I had the same issue with Nvidias new drivers, I rolled back to 399.29 and haven't had an issue since.

This issue still persists indeed. The recommendation by Radeon Support doesn't seem very beneficial:

I understand that you are experiencing issue regrading latest driver installation on your system.

This issue could cause due to multiple reason like driver files conflicts etc. I request you to give a try by performing clean installation of latest 20.4.2 driver by using the AMD Cleanup utility and check the issue status.

I suggest you to please disable the windows auto update in the "Show and hide" tool

To be on the safer side, I request you to please create System Restore point before performing any troubleshooting steps.

· Step 2 – please install 20.4.2 drivers by clicking this below link. Please disconnect the network connection and disable antivirus after downloading the installer file.

still getting this error after about 10 mins of gameplay

i think there was a trick to avoiding this by putting a certain setting to low. i forgot which one, it might have been low tile buffer or something like that i always forget lol but i remember when i turn that down it fixes my crashes.

I have over 4100 hours in this game as of Nov 24, 2023, and can confirm that this game is extremely buggy and still produces this error whenever my wife and I try to play together.
Both of us use Nvidia GPUs with the latest drivers installed, and files verified. I can play and host games, and when she joins, it crashes regularly, or connection timeout errors. We've been troubleshooting this for the past 4 hours today alone, and still nothing stable today. Not sure if Studio Wildcard will ever fix this garbage coding. Maybe just build it new with Ark Ascended (not likely) or Ark II.
