Nope. No one knows how to spell either aberattion or extincton. I know because I personally asked everyone that bought ark if they could spell aberaation or extiinction and they all said "no."

There are some words that are commonly misspelled. It doesn't matter how many times you see them, or where you see them, they just aren't intuitive enough for everyone to remember 100% of the time, even after learning the correct spelling.

The problem with aberration is the pronunciation. With the short 'a' as in apple... a double consonant *should* be after the 'a' in aberration.... if you followed the 'rules', it would be - Abberration, but good old English does enjoy having rules and then throwing spanners into the works of its own 'rules'.... every rule... at every oportunity (not opportunity) 😁
