Pixel-like/Blurry Graphics In Distance
I've been playing ark for a while and I've constantly had these strange graphics issues, in the distance the trees, grass, shadows, basically everything always looked so off like extremely pixel like and overall just super terrible looking. But when i go up close it slowly goes back to normal, it doesn't look so bad in pics for some reason but ingame it looks terrible, when you zoom in you can see it better.

I am thinking it's my monitor because it's not really a monitor for gaming or anything special and its also pretty old but i'm not 100% sure. It's a dell monitor that I've used in the past with my old PC (which had the same exact pixel graphic issue) it has a resolution of 1920x1080 and a refresh rate of 60Hz.

I recently built myself an entirely new PC which i use now for ark and i'm still having the same distant pixel graphics like my old PC i used. Is it my monitor or is it something else?

I have all my graphics on epic and my resolution scale is also max. My graphics card driver is also up to date if anyone's wondering.

Specs:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti
Ryzen 5 2600
16GB RAM
Samsung SSD 860 500GB

I will very very much appreciate anyone who can help me out, thank you. I'll also provide any other info needed to solve my problem.

you cant run your settings on epic, i just get away with high with a 1070ti, drop it high, see if it improves.

depends on monitor. i use 1080p monitor and run everything on epic with a gtx1070 and have no issues or lag.

i'm using:
1080p
6700k(no OC)
16ram
250ssd
1tb hdd(all games are run thru here)
gtx1070

the 1070 is just slightly better than the 1660ti so you should be able to handle mostly high settings.if you hare having lag issues it may be the server you are playing on.

I can run fine with epic graphics, my problem is the way the graphics look from far away, i dont have a big fps problem and lowering my graphics makes it look worse.

It's just the game, it's completely normal. To make the trailers they pre-rendered as hell and overused the depth of field so the background is blurred.
Even if you're on epic with 60 fps, it's ugly after 10 meters, especially the trees.

I also think the colors of the tree from the Halloween event make it even worse. Just disable the events to have the normal trees.

They improved the distant textures in the DLCs, it's more appealing to the eye. But there is always this weird pixel thing around pretty much everything.

That pixelated distance is no where near as bed as the reflections and water reflections. The lighting is rather crap. Random flickering, suddenly darkness and then brightness, and dear god you turn and look at the water just the wrong way. I feel like my eyes were set on fire.

Ah, i watch other people play ark and the graphics in the distance always seem to look a lot better for some reason even though their graphics are set the same as mine so i just thought something might've been messed up for me. Thanks though
