This game is unplayable without flyers
Which sucks. Because if the intention to fly over all the content, then why create content on the ground at all.

Every time I use my mount and go inland I get attacked and killed within seconds.

Microraptors who dismount me in the middle of battle and something else will aggro me.

A thyla jumping out from nowhere and killing me in 1 second even when I am on my mount (direbear).

If the point is only owning OP creatures the others are completely pointless and are just fancy pickaxes.

If you don't have a flyer you have to try and run 1 hour to your death spot which is impossible naked.

Such bad design, traversing the ground and exploring is only a waste of time and rage inducing.

I play on a server where flyers are non tameable (and giga and titans are also non tameable) its a lot harder but also a lot more fun before its no longer super easy, fly over everything.

Also all wild dinos have x5 normal stats on the server I play on (your tamed ones are normal stats, so WAY weaker)

You just have to go slower and watch out for all the dinos that steal or pull you off your mount. Shotgun to the face for any that come close.

On offical, once you have a good flyer, the game comes too easy. I did like aberration on offical until I got a good drake, then it got boring.

Actually having flyers destroys the game. You miss so much of the game when all you do is fly around. It seems to me your looking for the least amount of conflict which would be in the air. This is not survivial when you avoid everything on land and water where 99% of the creatures are! So of course you will run into problem when walking around in lands filled with creatures that are very hungry! What do you expect!!!!!!!

I do have flier's but i rarely ever use them (rock drakes arent fliers people they fall with style) also i havent bothered using classic fliers on single player as it feel's like they did increase the natural speed of them so i just didnt bother with that mod after that

I do not want to use a flyer because it destroys the game. But it is literally impossible to traverse on the ground if you are not on a massive OP mount.

The devs added so many troll creatures that just ruins your day. It is hard enough to survive on the ground without these garbage design creatures that instakill you.

That sounds like pure cancer.

I do want the game to be like that, without flyers, but then you would have to remove all the troll creatures on the ground that are just there to waste your time.

trust me, once you start getting a base going and a foot hold on good creatures it shouldn't be to hard....also 2 flier's that are good to tame are argy's and quetzal's since they can carry creature's, perfect for putting them in a taming pen to easily tranq them and start taming them up without having to be on constant guard for predator's

Then your mounts are too weak, too slow, or too less in numbers.
Microraptors who dismount me in the middle of battle and something else will aggro me.
Kill the micro with a melee weapon, let your mounts handle bigger things aggroing too. Where's the problem unless you're like level 10 ?

A thyla jumping out from nowhere and killing me in 1 second even when I am on my mount (direbear).
How about you just avoid them (and trees) in the few regions where they are ? There aggro range is very low...
Also i suggest using higher level mounts, there's no way even a high level thyla kills a decent level direbear in 1 sec

Always have a few backup gears for corpseruns...

It's not bad design, it's you sucking at the game

lol I die THE MOMENT I get dismounted. It is not like I have time to react or do ANYTHING.

The thyla killed me in 1 second. I was on a direbear max lvl. It didn't kill the bear, it killed ME.

The microraptor dismounted me and a terror bird killed me in 1 second.

That is trash design, not a skill issue. Good design would give me the ability to do something.

Nothing kills you in full chitin / flak armor with enough points spent into health in one sec...
Natjur Jan 17, 2019 @ 12:50pm
Was on aberration on a L200+ Direbear with a really good saddle, and was crossing a small river (Direbears suck in water).
The water looked safe. Did not see the Cnidaria, while I got the shot gun out to deal with that as my direbear was stunned, a baryonyx ripped me off the Direbear, a few Electrophorus come in to join the fun with a few angler fish doing high damage. Survived, just, and the direbear was a mess, but that was insane but fun at the same time!

Or on the island where a low level troodon knocked me out but due to the high armor I was wearing, could not kill me, but keeping doing 1 point of damage and keeping me knocked out for 40 mins before it destroyed my armor and could kill me. That sucks, but you have to laugh about it.

Once you have a good base and dinos, this game is easy (even without flyers). But those insane times when everything goes wrong it what this game is about, even better if you survive it when it all goes bad. It makes a good story!

Having a lot of points in health and movement, also makes the game easy.

I run around the map on Baryonyx all the time. If a microraptor gets me, my Baryonyx usually takes care of the problem and my flak armor lasts me long enough against occasional terror birds.

Now if I used 3 baryonyx instead of 1, I'd be safe from everything other than gigas.

Ground mounts are not impossible, it's definitely harder than just flying, but it's nowhere near to being impossible.

So instead of raging and calling it impossible, you should improvise, learn from your mistakes and take the loss. Losing is part of the game, there's no fun if all dinos always survive.

I like how people say that flyers are game-breaking, but in the same breath claim they're perfectly happy with their lvl200+ dinos and x5 stats to make everything way more OP than any wild creature they could possibly ever encounter.

I mean, who needs a carrier Argent when you have 3 Fightosaurs (Baryonyx) all with 6000% melee damage and 3000 weight capacity, amirite?

lol, I can't tell if that's an attack on me or not. The baryonyx army I created was actually during the official server days, before I joined a private server (with same stats) and single player. I only bump up speed lvl up a bit more in single player though.

People seem to underestimate having a small army is actually a huge advantage, especially when the army consists of smaller dinos as they're easier to control.
AlphaboyZz Jan 17, 2019 @ 1:54pm
I mean I have played on a NO tame server and dinos were lvl 600 and I will say starting out took a bit but once you get armor and everything it doesnt really matter. The dinos aren't that hard to deal with especially if you just keep an eye open and don't run into situations like an idiot. Even if you were playing with tames you don't need an OP dino or anything to survive..A low level trike can easily kill every dino in the game minus the Giga. It is all about preparation and using your head as to not put yourself into a situation you can't handle before you are ready for it.
Beserkiir Jan 17, 2019 @ 1:58pm
I occasionally hunt new tames on foot and I survive. But on more difficult adventures, I bring Allo's along with me.
