lost 2 owls , he died 4 times i died 8 , mostly to the gas in trees . the deaths were mostly from learning its attacks and getting our stuff back in the trees .
you want to see " 1 " pop up , it means you hit the node .
are you trying this solo ?
He also says the trees created do nothing, which I think is wrong, killing them gets rid of the poisonous clouds - btw the wyverns that fly around are highly effective at taking them down, with well place fire attacks you can take down several at a time. This would make sense to have someone on handling just this if you were doing it with a few people, but alone its futile as you will hardly get to touch the boss while trying to take out the trees. The wyverns also seemed to do nice damage against the boss, but its tough to only hit the tumor.
Anyway, my first Forest Titan attempt was with a friend and at the time the settings used were the Titan was at 0.9 and what I thought was the tumor was set to 0.6. I am normally alone and would typically just set a boss to 0.5, which is between a standard server and single player mode. We didnt get do well, and the boss seemed to bug up - at one point he was attacking a wall for 5 minutes (there was nothing even close to it), there was no damage being done to it during that time (I have floating numbers shown). Once it got out of that weird state, it ignored us completely and kept walking randomly to the edge of its arena before resetting. It sucked. I found out later that the tumor setting was actually for the final boss and nothing to do with the regular titans -_-
After doing some research, most of the videos I found on any of the titans were either groups killing it, or people "soloing" it with *god mode* on and spawning in things and not even mentioning what the settings were - in other words, pointless.
I then went and tried it solo, with setting the Titan to 0.5 which is what I would normally do a boss alone with. I used a Mek (default), and brought some siege cannon ammo and plenty of element. I used the siege cannon shots on the shoulders when I was confident on its movements, and with roughly a half dozen direct hits and 25-30 hand cannon hits it was enough to remove one tumor. Repeated for the other arm. For the final chin one I was nearly out of siege shots, but the few I tried missed as it seems a lot harder to hit. Couldnt tell you how many hand cannon shots it took, but plenty (probably the same amount of hp as the others).
also because its a giant tree its more like: TIIIIIIMBEEEEEER!!!
If you are on single player, it will take a bit less. If you are on a dedicated server (at default values), it will take twice as much.
I would be guessing on the time tbh... more than 10 minutes :s

Next challenge is dealing damage. People have tested the damage numbers and have come to the result of the nodes having a total of 240k EACH. This was tested with a 650% Fabricated sniper and took 316 bullets to break a node, but this is still up for debate, as the Titan does have damage reduction on both his body, and the nodes only pop up a 1 when you hit them, so the amount of health on said nodes is very much unknown still, but that's as much as we have to go off of.
A recommended strat is to constantly kite him around, or get a tank and try to have him face you directly. With a Mek, equip a Siege cannon (Standard one should do, if you have an upgraded M.S.C.M more commonly found from a Purple OSD, less commonly found from Beta King Titan) and bring plenty of ammo. If you were planning on killing a Rock elemental with a Rocket Launcher, that's what I would compare this to in terms of the amount of Cannon Shells you will need, because on top of the massive amount of health these Nodes have, you're probably going to miss a few shots due to the Titan being a bit of a jerk.
As for the trees, they are problematic at times, but with a Mek you should be able to breeze over them easily with a bit of hovering. If the stage does get absolutely smothered in trees though, a Forest Wyvern can make short work of the area you are trying to walk through, just be sure to either use a form of storage to keep your Mek safe while doing so, or just set them off away from the arena, as the Titan can only walk so far before being recentered to his arena.
So on my final notes, the Forest Titan is most definitely a pain, as the many attacks he has are very much able to swipe you down if you get too close to him at the wrong time, but his turning radius is slow, so just running past him will get you to avoid his attack if you do it quick enough. Once you defeat 1 node, you'll end up seeing a new attack from him like all the other titans, and this is his grab attack. Simply running to the side, or better yet, using the trees that grow in the arena as cover, you can somewhat reliably avoid his attack, but it will one shot you. Your dino's may also be prone to getting one shot if they are low on health, or just have low max health to begin with, so if you bring a dino to tank, either make sure it will survive, or bring it with the intent of never seeing it again.
Hope I answered any lingering questions, I definitely know I had a few, and I just had to use trial and error to solve many of the problems this fight was posing to me. Take care in taming your Titans, and stay safe in your travels across the Ark!
