ARK IS DEAD? ARK 2 GETTING ANNOUNCED IN 2019?
I stumbled upon a pretty interesting inteview with Studio Wildcard and Grapeshot Games co-founders Jeremy Stieglitz and Jesse Rapczak about Atlas and the future of ark, but what shock me the most was two things, This:

"No game's going to last forever, but I think Ark has a pretty exciting 2019 ahead of it at the very least," Stieglitz said. "There are a lot of people who play it, and it's very much in the studio's interest to continue adding and improving it so far as people are interested in the game. And well, I guess at some point a sequel is needed, right? So that's in the very early stages as well, obviously."

And this:
(After the interview, Studio Wildcard's PR representative specified that Stieglitz was speaking hypothetically about an Ark sequel.)

hypothetically? or real intentions?

I wont be buying an ark 2 since they havent fixed the first one. I rather support a better game company

they cant fix some bugs of the old game, a new game would help fix that

They can say whatever they want, the thing is to see if they follow through or if it's just to sell something at that point in time.

M8, at this point they shouldnt even be thinking of maybe having an idea of a hypothetical situation of an alternate universe where they are considering thinking about a second game.

So what? People think of sequels all the time. Cry more. Seriously though, As much as I agree that they shouldn't consider it and fix this game more, thinking of sequels isn't that bad. All things considered, a sequel can mean they use a better version of the Unreal engine with better stuff implemented that they cut out just so they have their own version to work with. When they first locked down the version of UE 4 and the stuff they handpicked into their version, it was horrible and missed out on a lot of things that actually improved the engine more.

An ark sequel from a technical stand point isn't a bad idea to think about. It's just not a good time nor is it right to do at the state of Ark right now.

They didn't announce Atlas until weeks before its release. They won't announce a ARK2 until weeks before too. And it won't be for at least 2years. So no worries there.

I don't think that's quite fair. They definitely messed up in a large portion of the game, but quite a few of the "bugs" can't be fixed with their version of UE4.

For instance their version they'll never be able to fix the meshing issues, whereas in the improved versions it's literally a checkbox. There might be occasional blimps with the mesh even with that, but at that point they're actually easier to fix.

Their version also as a weird active/inactive "beta" version of Hyperthreading which causes a LOT of people to crash, which got fixed relatively fast, but ark already had so much work on the previous UE4 version they had that it wasn't viable to go back and fix it.

I'd look at what improvements they release before its release/Early Acess, as well as what they will be adding to make it worth jumping to.

Ark 2 Will probably use the same Engine too, you must realise that Wildcard calls their version of UE "ARK ENGINE" they dont know how to program engine logic compared to the people of Killing Floor 2 with their awesome custom engine that runs Smooth and its very optimized, and I bet anyone that have seen their source code will pull their hairs out, everything is ultra bloated with lots of copy paste formulas and duplicated files, their hope is that with time, people will have better GPU's and CPU's and that the games will end up running fine, but thats wishful thinking, their engine is not using all the resources from modern machines and its gonna always be sort of broken, till they update to the latest code and rebuild the whole thing, something they dont want to do.

I dunno, you seem to extrapolate alot of conclusions from lots of vague and unconfirmed comments.

I think you might want to just take a break if the bugs in ARK are making you so upset.

the names of several folders like shootergame( demo game included with UE SDK) indicates that a big part of the game is standar UE 4 demo stuff the didnt even bother to change the name
