What are ice wyverns good for?

I've been thinking on which wyvern egg i am going to steel lightning, ice, fire, or poison. I know poison is good for pvp and lightning is good for pve (at least that's what i;ve heard) and i don't know much about fire. That is the reason WHY i am asking this question. But the real question is: What is the ice wyvern good for? Does it slow things down so you can tranq them? What do you use it for and what's good about it (what's its special use)?
P.S i am new to wyverns

Drakes really are fun. Really fast way to get around, used to be the fastest until Manas came around, but regardless Drakes are a more reliable method of transportation. It's just that Wyverns try to be a jack of all trade, but don't even come close to being the master of any. They have poor health scaling, and no armor, so they're always going to be constricted to backline support. They have okay weight, but are beaten out for utility due to the Argent and even Quetz's maneuverability. They cannot be bred, so you cannot force them to be good weight fliers, or force them to be good tanks, moreover you need a supply of wyvern milk which is something most animals don't need. I just feel like if maybe they were at least breedable their weaknesses would be justified. Alas...

At this point, I feel like wyverns should just no longer need milk for raising. Keep the milk for imprinting, but have them be able to eat meat.

Don't rock drakes take 3 days and 20 hours of non-stop gameplay just to fully grow them. Because i bought abberation today FOR a rock drake.

Nah they take like 9 hours of your time straight for one day then just check on em every 6 hours for the first day, every 8 hours for the 2nd, by day 3 you can pretty much forget about em and they'll raise themselves. Food drops slow and is far more plentiful than wyvern milk.

Rock drake have the same growth as wyverns. The eggs are harder to get for the first time as you definitely will need to fight off rock drakes for an egg. The eggs are located very deep in the hole, in radiation area and about 10-30 rock drakes moving around near the eggs. Once you get the egg, you'll have to climb all the way back to your base safely.

Fortunately, rock Drake's food are much easier than wyverns as they need Nameless venom, which are everywhere. And once you get a rock drake, getting eggs will be much easier, but do be careful to not get it killed.

Nope but I have a "legacy" rock drake on my official center server, he's the last surviving batch from back when everyone was screaming "the eggs are under the map!" Last january. One nest was still throwing 185's and they were all clones of eachother so the server became stuffed of clones of a single 185 with average stats across the board. But, he got the over 100% imprint bug. Still does, coupled with a 110 armor saddle he shrugs off anything that isn't % based damage.So no vs giga's or vs firewyverns. Anything else is fair game.

Day 1 when they first hatch. You have to keep an eye on them for 9 hours straight. After that, you really only need to check on them every 6 hours until you're 32 hours in. After that you only need to check on them every 8 hours until 56 hours in. After that, one or two more checks until day 3 then you can just let it worry about itself.

(Warning, this is for standard rates on a Rock Drake with AT LEAST 8k max food at birth,)

They only eat nameless venom during the entire time, last I checked they only ask for snuggles when imprinting. 1 venom gives 500 food. As for getting the venom, Option A is a light pet and (any) meat gathering dino. Go ham on the nameless. In my experience they drop more venom when not affected by charge light, buuuut that could just be coincidence or RNG. Option B is just use a good pump shotgun, and pretend you're playing ♥♥♥♥ Zombies with the nameless, and loot the venom from their corpses. Your call.
