Where is the Winter Wonderland? (NOT talking about Raptor Claus)

I'm missing The Snow Covered Island, I thought it was going to be part of this event. The screenshtos from the community crunch made it seem it would at least be happening on The Island, but looking closer it seems that first screenshot is just on the snow near the RED obelisk on Ragnarok.

How can it be called the Winter Wonderland event, when the Winter Wonderland isn't even happening?

Does anybody else miss it? I'm a bit surprised nobody else is talking about this.

Is it possible it'll be added later on?

I really liked the snow in the first 2 Winter Wonderland events.

It won't be added. The Devs have said it was easier to do snow-covered maps when it was just the Island. But now there are 4 official maps plus Ragnarok and Center it is a massive piece of work to do snow-covered maps now.

What is this nonsense? We complain about the cold, then complain about the heat, and we damn well like it that way.:P

Seriously though, as cool as it'd be to see the map covered in snow, it'd also be weird as hell in many areas. A lot of Ark's environments are hot and sticky. The Island, The Center, and Ragnarok are the only ones where it makes any sense for there to be snow though, so I don't see why they couldn't just do it for them.

It's more like a Black Friday event to be fair, whoever uses the drops first regardless of whoever is there first. Same with Gacha Claus, don't use them near other players.

On a private server the gear and BPs are a nice little bonus to stock up as we just play through the game.

Back when I played official our server had a pretty cool rule about first come first serve which most abided by.

Snow everywhere on The Island was not weird at all. Since it covered all, nothing was out of place, it was a really cool experience.

The biggest complaints I remembered were from new players who were getting a Steam Sale's first experience with Ark. And dying of the cold lmao. I'd be curious to know the numbers comparing how many more deaths there were due to cold than regular 1st Ark experiences.

Good servers took care of these players during the event more than usual and it was great. Our tribe was established at the time, so we just wore our good winter gear more often than usual and set up a few extra ACs.

They have The Island's snow covered code. I don't care about the other maps, it just seems fitting if it's going to be called The Winter Wonderland Event, then at LEAST The Island could be covered in snow.

Maybe the cold isn't as spicy as it used to be.

Maybe the white and green drops can temporarily give low lvl players fur gear during the event.

Maybe torches last longer and are more efficient in heat too + campfires.

Maybe all players get a temporary Fortitude boost +5

The only negative I remember is that some trees randomly spawned after the snow was removed. I kept one of those trees in my base until my last day. Miss that tree sometimes.

This I agree the desert and Aberration don't make sense one is a hot desert and the others underground. I don't know about extinction haven't played it but I do feel the island could be actually snow covered just one map and one they've done before for an actual winter wonderland.
