Should have came out with a true primative expansion instead. Sniper rifles, rockets, c4, machine guns, force fields, lasers on Rex's, and now Mechs? Wow... you made amazing dinos with great skins and animations all to ruin it with this crap. I will not buy this expansion.

ark never was a stone-age dino game and anyone who thinks otherwise is hilarious considering we spawn with sci-fi implants and there's 800 foot tall floating obelisks in the sky since day 1 of early access

Exactly it actually states in the title survival EVOLVED lol just because it has dinos in does not make it a primitive time it’s actually an alien experiment to see if we can survive against all sorts of different situations and enemies of old and new but hey ho some people are just idiots lol

it's been written well in the explorer notes that the ♥♥♥♥ Deus at some point launched the arks due to element corrupting everything. The idea was to create seeds to rebuild life on Earth again once the creatures driving the corruption(titans) are taken care of. The other intention was to evolve more humans into ♥♥♥♥ deus

See, I know people hate nuance, cause they have to think to get it, but if you say I preferred a more primitive game but understand Tek was the direction it was likely always headed, then I got no beef with that. That’s just expressing a personal preference. It’s the almost willful refusal to admit or acknowledge that Ark was never pure primitive from the start and the self centered insistence in the face of all evidence to the contrary that the devs ruined it by shoehorning Tek in. I’ve read too many asinine posts insisting all sorts of nonsense like it was put in when sales flagged to appeal to young kids who just want shiny stuff. This kind of nonsense basically insults anyone who doesn’t see things the same way they do and is factually unsupportable.

It always funny to me how quickly people take the words Alien and UFO, and directly think its about stuff from space.

I’m more amazed at the people who looked at the game’s promo images with Helena CARRYING A FREAKING ASSAULT RIFLE and the futuristic not exactly primitive looking giant A logo, bought the game, spawned in, looked directly at their character scratching a decidedly not primitive at all looking implant in their arm, which btw is a thing the game literally forces you to look at each time you spawn. These same people apparently manage to wander around the island for some measurable length of time not noticing the giant freaking obilisks of decidedly not primitive origins floating over the map. They are sooooo easy to miss or mistake for I don’t know, primitive Aztec totems or whatever *rolls eyes*. Then these geniuses show up here with the wailing and moaning and knashing of teeth about how Wildcard ruined a great primitive survival game by putting in all this sci fi nonsense after the fact.

Ark was never a primitive game. At the beginning of the game, you had access to primitive technology, but you would level up and move on to more and more advanced engrams. You want primitive? They made the Primitive Plus mod ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Go play that.

I love the niaveity of ppl that think just coz the game has dinosaurs in its defo a primitive survival game just because dinosaurs were around in our history but I can’t remember any history books stating that prehistoric men were running around with Rexs outside the flint stones Hahahahahaha maybe we should just get rid of all tek apart from drive thrus selling giant Dino ribs and cars with holes in the bottom for our feet

I think we can move past bickering about who meant what about alien since it is just a detractor argument from the meat of what this lore has to offer so far.

My gf and I are deep into the lore at this point. The only thing that remains for us is beating the king titan and any cut scene we may or may not get/what it does or does not tell us about the lore.

Kinda SPOILER ALERT I guess ish. Haha.

But it seems to me that the element came from deep within the earth. Something we found through technology being able to push through deeper into the earth than before. I suppose the notes do not really eliminate the possibility of aliens of some sort. Aka a species not of this planet. But the dev's even pose a question in the live stream about "why does it have to be aliens." This seems to add to the idea that element is more so from within the earth which future technology allowed us to get.

All that aside. I believe it is important to note that is seems certain that the arks re not an experiment by anyone.

you can disable the creatures and engrams you don't want. you can also add creatures from other maps too.
the INI-s are there for a reason.
