Neither since:
The only difference i know is you dont use food/water, and you might have more carry weight.
When using the same quality tools as you it gathers th same amounts, to my knowledge atleast.
Dang it now i have to test that as well :P
Tested on a 25k node, 2x harvest.
I was thinking the same thing shortly after posting, but comparing the amount of shards i got with what i usually get with a pick (not counting the main node since yes that is a very bad idea to harvest with a theri), i looks like its slightly less but does add the benefit of having a choice of what you get. The choice being dust or shard, sadly my tickle spec theri went poof for no reason, so im in the process of recovering that atm, but overall it felt like less even with the power speced one i used.
Theriz gets some, but no where at good as a mantis or yourself manually
I think its save to say that using a Theri with power harvesting is a solid way to get extra's from the outer nodes if you want purely element and no dust (dust is heavy and conversion rate is crap), and then juding by that last post from Natjur potentially a Mantis with pickaxes for the center node (Cant confirm, misplaced my mantis so it gonna take a while to find it and test it atm, but looks legit enough so i take his/her word for it).
Still tested at 2x rates, so result might vary on officials.
